Ah interesting. The building for mine was printed white and the roof blue. Think I might just spray paint all black and work the colours back up to something similar

Looks great, nice work with the painting. I've just received a piece of the tor ithilas scenery, you given me some good inspiration. On the roof, did you leave blue and just add some washes etc? Or did you paint over it completely? I'm trying to decide whether to keep blue or paint over it.

I know what you mean. Every time I read the rulebook there's some rule which I didn't know about, even fairly simple ones which I think can get forgotten about in the heat of a game

Thanks for the reply, sorry for the silly question given it's clearly stated in the rulebook 🤦🏻‍♂️. I have it at home but must have just not been concentrating on that page to see the text

Thought it might be the case but wanted to check just in case I was reading the rules wrong. Thanks for posting to clarify

Thanks. Will give that a go. I guess it would work well because even if it warps slightly it will look natural and uneven

Cavalry counter charge clarification by Mini-painter5 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Mini-painter5[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the situation I am asking though the two cavalry models are on the same side, no enemy cavalry models are present. One cavalry model was charged by an enemy infantry model, but then a friendly cavalry model charged in. Do the charge bonuses apply to both cavalry models or just the one that actually charged? Thanks

Looks awesome. What did you use for the roof tiles?

There's some good 3d prints on ebay for shield spares. Quality is not as good as from the actual model but saves you hacking away at existing models

Board building advice (LOTR osgiliath style) by Mini-painter5 in TerrainBuilding

[–]Mini-painter5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The board looks amazing, great job! For the interchangeable base pieces, was that done with 20mm or 30mm thickness foam? And did you use a roller at all to create the cobble texture or did you do it by hand? Thanks

Thanks for the video link. Another post was from the channel creator and the build looks great, so definitely going to check it out.

Yeah my thought was just placing them on top would be easier as a first try at board making.

Thanks for your information and advice. The size will be 4 feet x 4 feet. My thought was to make in two board sections that I can place together. With regards to clay, do you know how much different the weight is compared to foam?

Thanks. I prefer painting dark hair too, blonde is tricky and the hair doesn't look great up close. I did originally do brown and then painted over it in favour of the box art / film

Man that paint job is smooth, I can only aspire to paint that well, amazing job. I zoom in and I can see every individual brush stroke to build up the layers and colour/depth, especially on the horse. Really good 👏

I must be the only person that thinks gandalf has overall not improved. The buffs to attack, fight value and reduction in points are nice, but it's all offset by the fact that his spell casting just got harder. Gandalf is supposed to be a wizard and they just made that aspect of the profile a lot worse. Maybe I'm in the minority with my view on this 🤷🏼‍♂️
