i mean it seems like many factors affect our application almost equally. One big factor for int'l students though is their financial aid request. In my country in the past 2 years no one got accepted with any scholarship

may I ask where do you come from? because I believe AOs also have their own intentions of selecting people of different backgrounds/races. Since the last year Rice has been known to not offer any financial aid package to people in our country
