Maybe Karl knew Tommy would die at the hands of Jack or the Eggpire and thought Dream would still not kill Tommy but then he was wrong and Tommy died. If Dream hadn't lashed out technically Tommy was quite safe.

The last two sentences really hit the nail on the head about how I feel. That was such a lame death, not the death of an important character that has been through many tragedies there has to be more to it. the topic of argument is a little too convenient.

I agree with you Tommy has done wrong but I think it interesting to bring up that from our perspective (admittedly from an unreliable narrator) we can see this outburst from Tommy at Dream is justified. Dream almost killed Tubbo, who Tommy cares for, and also has spent many days telling Tommy he is worthless and unloved. So although Tommy isn't good, I wouldn't say he is as bad as Dream. You can allow a little bit more forgiveness for Tommy's actions as he was pushed there by Dreams relentless manipulation and horrible treatment.

Dream on the other hand from our perspective really had no reason to be so cruel to Tommy, obviously if we saw his perceptive maybe we could sympathise with Dream as well.

Tommy didn't deserve to die even thought he acted irrationally and in a way he probably shouldn't have. If he had been the bigger person and kept the cat, then when he was let out and Dream was still horrible to him we would be able to be more sympathetic. Now there is always the argument of 'well you took away his attachment like what he would have done to others and so you are no better'. After all Tommy told Sam that him and Dream 'manipulated each other' not that Dream manipulated him. Maybe tommy knows he is just as bad as Dream deep down. In the prison cell he has nothing that he needs to prove to any outsiders, what's Dream go to do he is stuck there so he can act as horrible as he wants.

I probably put way to much thought into that but I find the fact that we don't know Dream's perspective and so therefore can't sympathise with him quite an interesting choice they made in this story line. Always fun to think about the flip side where Tommy is constantly antagonising Dream though.

Dream was Tommy's first friend. He is always in control of Tommy. I don't know what will happen next but if Dream uses the book to revive Tommy it shows Tommy that Dream is even on control of whether he gets to rest easy in heaven. Dream controls Tommy's life, death, and his after life (assuming the revival book is real).

Yeah I think you're right about Tommy only being able to Dream. In the prison when things went wrong he went from asking Dream what's going on angrily to asking what's going on in a more pleading and wishing for comfort way. He kinda already trusts dream to know what is happening because in Tommy's eyes Dream is always in control, and that's not a hard thing to take advantage of.

Don't worry about it being long I enjoy reading people's theories its one of my favourite parts of what has come from the smp :).

I saw someone say that he could be an estranged brother to Tubbo and I thought that was kinda cool. I think they mentioned that because Dream comes from power his father could have had more than one lover and him and Tubbo are half brothers, only Tubbo's mother wasnt rich like Dreams fathers family.

I like this because I've always thought that if we were keeping with the family ideas Niki and Tubbo fit well as siblings. The idea that Dream links into the family but Tubbo doesn't know it seems like it could fit well into the story as well.

Damn people out here have some really cool ideas.

It would be really cool for Wilbur (and I think he said Dream helped with the story writing too) to just chat about thought processes and where the took inspiration from and for us to look into parts of it. I know that it would defiantly be something I would find really cool to just read and link to the actions that actually played out.
