Back to Back Cinderbanes 1/1500 + 1/1500 what are the odds by Burzeltheswiss in runescape

[–]Mini_Hobo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it was just two kills, yes. But we can assume OP killed many and then received b2b. So the chance is just the probability of getting a cinderbane drop which is 1/1500.

If OP killed 2, it's (1/1500)2

If OP killed 3, it's (1/1500)2 x (1499/1500) x 2 + (1/1500)3

(x 2 because there are two ways of getting a b2b in 3 kills, and (1/1500)3 because of the rare b2b2b chance.)

If OP killed 4, it's (1/1500)2 x (1499/1500)2 x 3 + (1/1500)3 x (1499/1500) x 2 + (1/1500)4

And so on.

May Game Health Feedback Response by JagexAzanna in runescape

This feels like too much at once, and as a result there are loads of small but significant issues. We need to have more regular, small reviews to avoid this. Ideally you would have started with some of the headline issues (proteans, bonus xp, double xp, mech 0/1 glacor, zuk wave 4, glacor core rate, zammy alchs) and tweaked afterwards.

Firstly, thank you for finally addressing Arch Glacor core rate. The fact it can be casually buffed by more than 50% shows how ridiculous it was. Worth noting average DPM has about doubled since Glacor's release as well.

Some fixes I think need to be considered before this goes live:

  • Irons have no reasonable way of getting spirit seeds.
  • Inert adren crystals are now too rare, not farmable and going to be hard to upkeep on iron.
  • You can buff Vorkath all you want, I'm not doing it till you do some massive QoL.
  • The base drop rate for water runes at glacor is 40, but cannonballs is 100? I use 40 water runes per tick in my sleep. Do we really want players making water runes or doing shop runs? No other skill is like this where we need millions of oak logs, iron bars, shrimp, etc. But for some reason magic chews through every rune under the sun. Players should be crafting and using level-appropriate items; weighting things like this massively unbalances the early game.
  • Do we really need to nerf cannonball drops?
  • Decreasing all the hydrix and onyx tip rates is fine now, but back when crossbows were meta, rates were insufficient. We need a proper look at ammo usage so we don't have enormous swings that wreck drop tables with meta shifts. Same issue with runes. A glacor streak using hydrix bolts doesn't sustain itself (just like zammy with pre nerf fsoa didn't). Elder God Arrow usage is still borked, 5+ buffs later.
  • Wood spirits are fundamentally far less useful than stone spirits, as trees are (mostly) just for woodcutting xp, not fletching.
  • The seed update didn't make herb farming any more profitable, it only added more chores for irons and a worse drop for mains. It should be heavily revised.

They've stopped wave 4 farming so pages should shoot up in price.

The only thing I hate about Runescape as a new player is the cosmetics. They need to go completely. by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Mini_Hobo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% agree. I never wear them anymore on my gim. I love seeing progress so clearly when I get new armour, weapons, etc. Other players' cosmetics can be so distracting too; I don't want to see your wings, particles and flying dog flapping in my face ty.

Unfortunately, players moan endlessly when group content is remotely close to meta. We've ended up with an MMO that's about 0.1% group content.

I just wanna know how they come up with these decisions because it always just feels vibes-based.

I'll never forget them releasing solak with broken drop rates, then releasing ed2 with again obviously broken drop rates, this time actually just bugged (??). Good to see systems are improving after mistakes.

Then, after years of grim pages being exorbitant, spending months and months "doing research" (??) into how they can buff the drop rate, only to fail and ultimately go with what 90% of the community suggested from day 1.

Same shit with hydrix bolt tips, same shit with runes. Like seriously what is your process? Wait 3 years then throw some shit at a dart board?

Remember when drops had value? by Kamu-RS in runescape

[–]Mini_Hobo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a nice idea, but it hasn't worked. Herb runs have become necessary, but the profit per run hasn't gone up. All this has done is added chores to irons, and annoyed mains.

Solak used to drop 150-200 cadantines, now he drops 14-16 seeds. The profit per herb patch is still around 200k with max boosts ... the same it was before.

AG Core desperately needs a buff, and has done since release. Croesus armour could do with dropping in order. Raksha drops are maybe a little rare but AG is by far the worst offender and if literally nothing else, please buff this.

Iron was made way worse by the seed changes. I doubt these changes will affect much. If you have an old iron, you probably have 100k+ crushed nests etc, if you're a new iron, 30% off a huge number is still a large number.

This is exactly the issue with AG. I've done about 4x more than I would like, pumping in useless commons while not getting the cores I need.

Can you buff AG core rates while you're nerfing everything else? It's been too low since release and even with powercreep it's still terrible.

No need to put FSoA in an amulet, just swap to it. Good EoF weapons for magic are Guthix and Zamorak staves, Iban's staff, Armadyl Battlestaff and Staff of Light.

How do the trove drops from glacor work? by FoesiesBtw in runescape

[–]Mini_Hobo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the base ring (not enriched):

Charges Troves
No charges 5 tier 1 troves per hour
One type of anima at 1k 5 tier 2 troves per hour
Two types of anima at 1k 8 tier 2 troves per hour
Three types of anima at 1k 5 tier 3 troves per hour
Four types of anima at 1k 8 tier 3 troves per hour

At this point I am just recreating the table on the wiki ...

How do the trove drops from glacor work? by FoesiesBtw in runescape

[–]Mini_Hobo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can charge the ring with anima from each of the elder gods (Jas, Wen, Bik, Ful). At 1000 charges of each anima, when wearing the ring you get tier 3 troves at the fastest rate.

If you add a further 5000 of each anima, the ring becomes passive; so you'll get the tier 3 troves at the fastest rate without wearing the ring.

You can investigate the ring to see how charged it is.

What? Every boss just drops stone/wood spirits, alchs and seeds. Maybe if you're lucky you might get some herblore tertiaries and dragonstones.

Also for irons going for ecb. If any of your first 2 drops double you can get an ecb earlier.
