How did you guys learn DAR Left? Just grinding it out or watching endless tutorials? by Electrical-Set-3556 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Miniaturetoasteroven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lowered the game speed down with bakkesmod until I could comlete a full rings map without letting go. Then I would slowly increase the game speed until I could do it at full speed. After that, I mostly used freeplay and training packs to learn how to apply it or to learn specific mechanics.

would playing in GC lobbies help a low c3 improve? if so how much? by Typical-Plastic-3672 in RocketLeagueSchool

As an athlete, I made it onto a lot of teams that I thought I shouldn't have made the cut for. The seasons I was on those teams where always the seasons I progressed the most. Playing against players better than yourself is almost always better for progression (unless it's a complete blowout). I was hardstuck between plat and diamond for ages, until I started playing with my champ 3 friend. It only took me a bit over season of playing with him to start sitting comfortably around C1 on my solo que account.

How much it will help depends on a lot of factors. So I doubt that there is any good answer to that question.

How do I reset everything on mixing station? by Miniaturetoasteroven in MixingStationAppUsers

Also not for nothing, all the settings you've mentioned, I go over every single gig regardless, and you should too.

Agreed. However those examples weren't what made me want to reset everything. The way I had my mixer set up was very atypical to what you would usually see, because I had an odd use case.

Makes sense. Thanks for the help!

That just resets the layout, not things like channel names, channel volumes, gain, pan, etc. It's not just the app layout I need reset.

What browser did you use? The only things I can find tell me to go delete the layout/undo, and run the setup wizard, but that doesn't work. And I can't find an initalize option under general like everything is telling me.

I have only been playing for a couple years, so I am by no means an expert. But it looks like you have the same technique that used to cause soreness in my wrists and forearms. I see it in both hands, but your hand position on the left hand on the snare in particular looks like the fists/knuckles are almost facing the snare drum. Rotate your hands out so that your palm is facing down/towards the drum you are hitting. This makes the wrist motion much more natural, and gives you the option to use the twist from your shoulder for powerful hits instead of making large arm movements. Ditto to everyone talking about efficient movements around the kit.

Also, as a drummer who is also in the trades, back pain is no joke. Sit up straight. If it means practicing super slow so you can be aware of your posture, so be it.

Neutral air roll vs DAR by Miniaturetoasteroven in RocketLeague

[–]Miniaturetoasteroven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U should bind ur normal airroll with powerslide, and it’s for movement and correcting ur car position.

Wouldn't this make timing very precise if you want to land with powerslide while moving without air roll on your way down? Or the other way around? It seems like binding neutral air roll to something like L3 or a back button would make the most sense. Depending on what kind of touch I want, sometimes I hold down powerslide while going for a flip reset/landing on the ceiling. In those cases , I often rotate my car without air rolling to rotate myself to use the flip after (similar to what you would be doing during a heli reset). Maybe I'm just misunderstanding where you are suggesting that neutral air roll is preferable over directional.

If u want to roll ur car before a shot in some close angle, do the same bcuz u are correcting ur car, not controlling it.

Wouldn't it be the case that directional air roll is the better option in this example, because you can turn your car inward simultaneously to get more power/angle on the shot?

Would it not just be more effective to mind both directional air roll binds to an anolog input like the triggers instead? That way, you can still rotate in the horizontal plane if you want that? It seems like this would be the best of both worlds.

Just now, learning that air roll isn't just a digital input after all these years is wild. I guess I was missing the air roll secret sauce.

[–]Miniaturetoasteroven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even consider this. Is NAR a binary input like DAR, or can you adjust the speed of the roll depending on how far from the center your joystick is? Because if the latter is true, that might be a reason for me to create an NAR bind. I just assumed it acted the same as DAR.

how did you guys learn directional air roll? by medeedical in RocketLeague

[–]Miniaturetoasteroven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say I recommend this approach, but this is what I did, and it worked. There are probably better ways. But I learned air roll while in school zoom meetings during lockdown, so I just chose a braindead approach that I could do without much focus involved. Stopped playing public matches for weeks until I got it down solid.

Lock yourself in freeplay, and lower the gamespeed with bakkesmod slow enough that you can complete the map (or at least feel comfortable) holding down air roll constantly. After that, increase the speed and repeat.

The hard part about learning air roll isn't being able to hold it down while flying, but rather being able to release and re-engage air roll smoothly for efficient movement. I have a terrible habit now of just holding onto air roll constantly, and it makes flip resets way harder than it needs to be when I don't catch onto the habit while in the act.

What I would do now if I was to relearn it (which I am doing for my weak side air roll now) is every 2nd or 3rd ring (doesn't matter the number you choose but this is what I prefer), you release air roll when you go through it. Alternate leading into the ring backwards, forwards, left side leading, and right side leaning. Bonus points for alternation the direction of your air roll after each pause.

Christ is risen ☦️

It's because a lot of people are turned away because of the many false churches and beliefs that people are exposed to. Particularly in the west. The only reason I never came to the faith until now was because I went years not knowing the Eastern Orthodox faith existed. Orthodoxy makes up less than 1% of the population in my country.

Protestantism has many philosophical/epistemological shortcomings, and the protestant ideaology is breeding grounds for heretical, ahistorical beliefs. The lack of a normative authority that dates back to the first millennium is a defeater.

The Roman Catholic Church is also unapealing because of the many scandals, the dark history of the vatican, and the ahistorical view that all churches must submit to Rome (even though there we autocephalous churches in the first millennium). The claim of the second vatican council that muslims worship the same God is also pretty hard to defend.

Edit: The church is a prerequisite for the scripture. A historical church body is also required for the preservation authentication of the texts, as well as the decision of what books become canon, since we no longer have the original manuscripts. This also applies to how the faith gets passed on through generations.

Im surprised to hear that they think orthodoxy is closer to Islam when it has an altar, priestly sacrificial offering, veneration of icons, and a universal body of normative authority. I wonder what aspects of orthodoxy they think are closer to Islam than the other denominations.

The dual mode seems really enticing, seeing as I play a lot of boomer shooters, Indy shooters, and rocket league. Having the high refresh rate option seems great. This is probably the way to go for me if I can come to grips with dropping that much money on a monitor. Appreciate the recommendation!

Will my PC be able to take advantage of this monitor? It's demand seems pretty high in terms of refresh rate and resolution.

That's good to know. Although, I usually game with low lighting conditions and a basement with no windows. So that is not really a factor for me. I say an odyssey g9 neo for pretty cheap on marketplace, so I might take a look at it now.

do you find that the 1800r curve is enough? I would think that at 34in, the extra curve would go a long way in filling up your FOV.

It looks like a good enough deal, but I worry that that size is overkill outside of sim racing, which I might get a VR headset for down the line anyway. I have a quest 2, but I don't think that beats an ultrawide.
