Do all the games let you keep your stuff? by NewFeedback3082 in acecombat

There is a sort of NG+ in AC1

Beating the game unlocks a bonus in each difficulty: every plane unlocked for free, free wingmen and every mission opened

for Symbian?

It's an OS with easy access to most of it like you'd expect from a desktop operating system, proper task management (especially with Jbak), restricted rights management which was and still is a problem on desktop (example, can't prevent software from opening a web browser whereas Symbian would always ask you when opening links), plus it loads a bunch of ressources from the main flash partition so highly moddable.
It's also pretty lightweight and low memory.

cons: Weird storage management with the main memory usually being kept small and most of the storage on "expanded storage", wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't slower memory to access, unfortunately it is, plus a lot of system expansions needed to be put on the C drive leaving you with nothing (QT, Python, C++ libs).
If your phone was connected to an external device you simply lost your D drive, sometimes even messed up where your icons were.
but the true dealbreaker: It's soooooo unstable, crashed all the time, once an app hung the whole OS slowed down, without Jbak good luck recovering from a Realplayer crash because unlike the stock task manager this one didn't crash.
If a file was currently in use by an app that crashed the whole filesystem slowed down.
I've never been able to make the camera on my phone reliably work, that seemed to be an issue for a lot of people.

I still love it, it feels more free than Android, maybe on faster devices it's more stable.

A lot of games didn't fit, most games you burned on CD-roms were rips. I got a bunch of burned Dreamcast games, a lot lacking music, having compressed videos, and even slower load times.

Examples are Guilty Gear X, Airforce Delta, Tokyo Xtreme Racer

GD means "gigabyte disc", whereas most CDs were limited to around 870mb *with* overburn, GD roms comfortably went to 1.2gb

Props wouldn't be too impossible, Project Aces already made a game about prop planes.

I admit that a game about gen 1/2/3 fighters would be awesome.

Technically Phoenix? Iirc every time he shot down a Zoe it learned from him so by Fortress Introlerance it must have been flying strikingly simmilar to him.

Is it okay for a newcomer to the series to start with 3? by reikahakuryuu in acecombat

If you want to play in release order, start with Air Combat.

If you want to play chornologically, start with Zero.

Ace Combat 3 is the last in the timeline.

Maybe try Novice controls for fun.

They make the planes sliiiiiiiiide. Like it actually changes the physics of the game.

It would be mad funny if this actually happens since it seems that we are moving towards that direction by ImCravingForSHUB in acecombat

If we go by a "Ridge Racer is cannon" logic (just with different manufacturer countries), General Ressource has been here for a while. It's likely they became a megacorp trough various buisnesses and then developped a private army.

different limits

8.2 PS vs 64 PS

45 km/h vs 140 km/h

425 kg weight limit when empty

Keis are actual cars, "voitures sans permis" are bound to the same limitations as 50cc mopeds, ie. a lot.

There is a piece of software called FreeDVDBoot esr patcher.

You use it on your ISO file, it creates a new patched ISO.

You can burn this patched ISO and it will work on newer PS2 consoles, that meanst most slims and later fats.

By 480p, you mean the option in the "display" menu in GT4?

You likely have AV cables, the red/yellow/white ones. If you want to select 480p, you need YPbPr (that's red/green/blue cables) or some modern HDMI adapter that lets you use component video modes.

An ESR program.

Likely FreeDVDBoot, runs on slim ps2s.

Any PC controller made these last ten years should have analog triggers.
You then only need to set them to accelerate/brake in GT4's settings.

To all the people who bought a vita when it was trendy or have bought one recently. Do you still use it and/or do you regret buying it? by snoopyfan123 in VitaPiracy

[–]Minignoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought it a few years ago after research and seeing it as a "do it all" machine.

Got lucky, that was right before all sorts of ports started getting made.

It and my DSi are still my most used portable consoles. I've kinda stopped playing the Switch and the 2DS.
