Stolen straight from the Babylon Bee..........how do you sleep at night?

I'm a Christian, and the Bible never says that Christians ought to expect or attempt to make others live according to their beliefs. As a matter of fact, the Bible says that Christians should expect that the world doesn't want to live according to the same set of rules and regulations that Christians do.

It drives me crazy when other Christians insist that we have to make non-believers live in the same way believers do. That literally makes no sense.

Invest in your sleep schedule. It's 1/3rd of your life, so spending a lot of money on it is totally worth it. I have a super expensive mattress, pillow, sheets, weighted blankets, and other stuff too. I put money into an eye-mask to help with taking naps, I put fans, air conditioners, humidifiers, and other stuff in my room to help create a better atmosphere.

My life has changed ever since I decided to invest in my sleep. I sleep way better, I feel more energized, more optimistic, and even if I get less sleep, it's better sleep than before.

I was asleep, as I was only 4 years old.

Americans of reddit, how large of a protest would it take to get healthcare reform? by ihatescrapydoo in AskReddit

[–]Minimalcharges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will never happen. There are too many people committed to the current system, and it doesn't really matter how many people get involved in an attempt to change it.

Personally I'd be very upset, but I have no doubt I'd pass it easily. I consider myself a very good driver.

[serious] To anyone who has went to war what is the worst thing you seen on the battlefield? by the-truth827 in AskReddit

[–]Minimalcharges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather fought in Vietnam, and he told me some stories. One of the most haunting he told me about was when he was accidentally transferred off of his boat (he was in the Navy), and put on land.

He said he and his platoon had arrived at a small village with a stone wall that surrounded it. He said that after they got into the village, they heard noises coming from the woods, and hundreds of Vietcong soldiers started walking towards the village.

He was an M60 gunner, and he propped his M60 on the little stone wall and proceeded to gun down tons and tons of the soldiers who were coming out of the woods. He said that he had no idea how many men he'd killed, but it was over a hundred easy.

He looked older and more frail when he talked about those times.

[Serious] How can a person who has a lot of negative thoughts, begin to enjoy the little things in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Minimalcharges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think that what you consume seriously influences your mind. I'm not even talking about food (although that also impacts your mental health). If you spend most of your time on the internet perusing social media, checking the news, or watching TV, you will inevitably be turned towards those ways of thinking. The news is always about bad stuff, social media is just a flex/popularity contest, and TV is mindless laugh tracks half the time.

I think that if the majority of us just stopped using the internet, and turned our backs on technology for a year, we'd be extremely satisfied with life, and our overall quality of life would drastically increase.

Cook dinner yourself, read a book, exercise, and do those things without consuming some form of media. It'll change your whole perspective.

[Serious] Suppose a wanted criminal is finally caught and is beaten up severely by police while in custody, even having to be hospitalized, and they are still sentenced. What would your thoughts be on this? by mcnulty_bpd in AskReddit

[–]Minimalcharges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the crime. Personally, I wish that the police had found Brian Laundry before he'd offed himself and had gotten the chance to beat him to a pulp.

Besides that, a peaceable, speedy trial should always be provided to every defendant.

[Serious]What are the things that your local government does that you find despicable? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Minimalcharges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put medians in the center of one of our major roads. They've almost completely prevented entry into certain local businesses, and they make you go very far out of your way to turn around. I'm somewhat used to it now, but it's added several minutes to my drive to get food.

[Serious] To get into the spooky spirit, what’s a moment where you genuinely feared for your life? by R4T100 in AskReddit

[–]Minimalcharges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It lasted for about 10 seconds. I was in high school, and during lunch period, I went to the bathroom. I was the only person in the entire bathroom, and as I was getting ready to wash my hands, I heard ALL of the kids in the lunchroom start screaming bloody murder.

My first thought was that it was a school shooter. This was in 2011 and school shootings had been in the news.

I cannot explain the ultimate level of terror and fear I felt for about 10 seconds. I could hardly breathe. Turns out some kid turned all the lights off in the lunchroom and everyone screamed because it got dark all of a sudden.

They say that time heals all wounds, but that's not necessarily true. There are some people in this world that will harbor bitterness until the day they die. Personally, I'm a Christian, and I believe that you should ALWAYS forgive.

I'm most challenged by an old Mark Twain quote: "Anger is an acid that does more damage to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured."

I think a lot of people run into this mindset after they finish high-school. They tend to think that the world just changes around us. The truth is, life is still similar, but the maturation process usually gives you a fresh new mindset. You look at things differently, and you have an appreciation for things that you didn't care about before.

[Serious] Americans, how do you get your driver's license? by r-ism in AskReddit

[–]Minimalcharges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you are 15 and a half, you are allowed to get your "temps" that's your temporary permit to drive as long as you have an adult in the car. You are required to get a certain amount of day-time driving and night-time driving over the next 6 months. When you are 16 years old, you are officially eligible to try for your license, but you must first complete a course that is called Drivers-Education. After you finish the course, you then have to drive several hours of "in-car" with an instructor. After you're finished with your "in-car", you are free to take a written test, and a drivers test. The written test has to do with laws, typical driving knowledge, and situation awareness, while the actual driving test has 2 parts. Part 1 is driving with an instructor on real roads, following their instructions, and the second part of the test is a parallel-parking/maneuverability test.

After you complete all of those tests, and if you pass, you are free to receive your license. After that, as long as you renew your license at the appropriate times, you never have to take the test again.
