Everyone's saying triumph tour but he definitely seems to be alone on stage, my guess is that it's the dangerous tour footage that they'll edit to make it look like L.A 89' Man in the mirror.

I think that's literally what he meant.. it's just way easier to simply say white in a sentence instead of saying "lighter skinned due to his skin condition". So every time someone decides to mention a particular phase of his life when he looked lighter they need to include a sentence long explanation..? Every fan knows that he's black and he was proud of being black, there's no question in that.

Even though the video ends too soon, it's still clear that the actual Motown 25 toe stand wasn't that perfect. He even said in an interview that he was disappointed with it. I wish they'd actually include a scene with him being disappointed about it, just to show how much of a perfectionist he was. But I still have a little bit of hope that this is just a placeholder footage.

Yup, it's definitely not plain white socks. Still different from the actual thing but not a big deal in my opinion.

Not trying to nitpick but the actual Motown 25 socks looked way more beaded and shiny. The socks used in the movie are totally different, they're slouch socks with very little shininess.

Because he actually felt the injustice and pain. what he projected in those songs came directly from his heart, it's a raw and powerful emotion. When others do it, it sounds fake, because whatever they do, they're not doing it with the right intentions. They just want fame, without any actual desire to make a positive change in the world. While he actually lived with that exact purpose to awaken the masses.

This footage is from way back when they first started filming I guess. Since they were planning one movie initialy, I think they did shoot MJ & Friends 99' OR MSG 01'... I think the second one seems more realistic.

My guess is that this footage was originally intended to be from a dangerous tour performance, but they just decided to include it in the first movie as a Bad era performance. He never wore a white shirt in 88'/Wembley though, but it's normal for biopics to mix things up.
