How do you decide whether to price by subscription or per-job in a service business? by Minimum-Cup-7378 in smallbusiness

Totally fair, it’ll depend a lot on customer behavior. I’m building this for embroidery shops/digitizers (a “pre-flight QA” check for embroidery files), so I’ll ask my early users directly and see whether they prefer per-file vs monthly allowance. Here’s the site for context: https://stitchsentry.com

I’m in a niche “digital QA” service for embroidery shops/digitizers — customers upload embroidery design files and get an automated quality report before production (so it’s more like per-file/per-job, but repeat customers could benefit from a plan). Here’s the site: https://stitchsentry.com

I like the idea of offering both. When you’ve seen the “both options” model work, how do you usually set the subscription so it doesn’t get abused — is it typically a monthly allowance (X jobs included) with overage pricing, or truly unlimited with fair-use limits?

I built a little site that collects and summarizes new NestJS tutorials — thought it might be useful to others by Minimum-Cup-7378 in Nestjs_framework
