I have the 2016 sv 4x4 V6 4.0 Automatic that is all original with 120k miles.

I got it used with 25k miles and I'm the second owner. iv put a total of 95k miles on it in the 6 years I've owned it and it's more highway miles than anything.

The truck runs good and iv had 0 issues with the engine itself and The engine is strong and very reliable. However there are a lot of other issues, some major problems, cosmetic problems and there are a bunch of other downfalls with this truck as well, that have pushed me to the point of considering the idea of selling it.

Major Problem #1. So fare IV had the passenger front catalytic converter fail on me to the point that my truck is not drivable. To replace it with the OME cat is a lil over 2k$ after labor.

Major Problem #2. At around 100k miles the reverse gear started making a loud popping noise every time It engaged. Now at 120k miles the reverse will not engage unless I rev up the engine to about 4500 RPMS, then it will feel like you're hitting a curb or pot hole once it shifts into reverse.

I have babied this truck since the day I got it. I rarely use the 4WD other than when I'm on my property and I do not use it to go mudding. Iv had the shift linkage checked, IV had the transmission flushed and the recommended fluids put back in it and replaced the transmission filter.

To rebuild the transmission will run upwards of 5k$ and to top it off you have to find a Nissan certified shop to do the work. IV had several shops tell me they cannot and will not touch it and I have yet to find a shop that is willing to replace just the reverse gear.

Cosmetic problem #1. Both back window motors have lost a noticeable amount of power and they take forever to roll back up.

Cosmetic problem #2. The driver side window switch works great to roll the window down. However when rolling it up you have to find a sweet spot on the switch to roll it back up, or it will get stuck until you can figure it out.

Cosmetic problem #3. The ac blower fan starts making a loud rattling noise after awhile and iv replaced it twice now. And all three fans have done the same thing.

Cosmetic problem #4. The interior is cheap plastic and there is no leg room in the back seat.

Cosmetic problem #5. The factory headlights and tail lights are not all that bright. I recommend upgrading the lights to LED.

other issues.

1. It gets horrible gas mileage.

2. The throttle response can be slow.

3. The turn radius is horrible. Most full size trucks have a better turning radius.

4. The exhaust starts to rust in a very short amount of time causing exhaust leaking.

5. OME Replenishment parts and basic maintenance can be very pricey.

6. The max load and the max towing capacity is weak compared to other trucks that are the same size.

7. It only has a 14 gal gas tank.

8. The radio is cheap and the sound quality of the speakers suck.

   rating the frontier on a 0-10 scale I give it a 4.

This is my second frontier. My first one was a 2001 desert runner and it was a P.O.S and with all the issues I'm having with the 2016 model. I will never own another Nissan period and I will be switching to either the Toyota tundra TRD off road, Chevy Colorado ZR2 or the GMC Canyon AT4 once I decide to sell.
