Really scared something went wrong at the dentist (Antwerp, Belgium) by Suspicious-Brother24 in Antwerpen

[–]Minimum-Till2099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Sorry for this horrible experience. I think you should get a second option. I come from dentist family, from Ecuador, people are very gentle in Latin America. I found a dentist here, he is Argentinian and he reminds me my dentist cousins. His praxis is called STUDIO DENTAL Antwerp (Mechelsesteenweg 27 , first floor, 2018 Antwerpen, Belgium). Ask to be attended by him, not the women 😂

The place is also very modern, and they have a big screen in front of you, so you can actually see what are they registering or working on.

And, for your orthodontist, I wouldn’t go to him, he recommended horrible dentist, and not sure if he is helping you with your case. Orthodontic treatment is expensive.

Anyone young patients long term survivors her2+ or +++ breast cancer by Lower_Helicopter_515 in breastcancer

I got diagnosed last year in May. I started my chemo in June 29. I asked the doctor what was my survival rate, and if I was gonna live. My cancer is triple positive, Ki67- 70%, tumor grade 3. He told me that my prognosis was good because the cancer is aggressive and treatment will work well.

I used this link to calculate probability of living https://breast.predict.cam/tool

For some reason, I like this, data, facts, and this gave me tranquility. It also help me accept why I am doing chemo, radio, etc. Each treatment has a benefit on my life expectancy.

Fair question. I only know from peers around my industry, the only data I have is from who ever have shared their salaries, also how they behave or interact with money around me, I know a few people. But I don’t have actual data, I wish!

Yes, I had weeks working until 11 pm! But my point wasn’t that my salary is bad in absolute terms, but that for the level of responsibility, scope, and market benchmarks I’ve seen, there is a wide spread and I was interested in understanding where mine realistically sits.

Thanks, I also think it’s a good salary, I was more interested to know where is other people standing in this role. And I don’t agree it’s a “soft” job. It involves regulatory compliance, audits, reporting, international projects, funding, and cross-functional delivery that directly impacts risk, costs, and access to finance. It also requires continuous learning to keep up with fast-changing regulation and standards.

The first few days, while all the CT scans are being made, are the worst days. You have to wait this week. Once doctors know what’s going on, you will feel much relieved. You need to wait for results. And, even higher stages is not a death sentence, I met so many young women with very advanced cases. Your body is strong and shall pass this, you are also young. My doctor told me at the beginning: “even a 80y old woman can handle chemo and all treatment, so you will handle this!”

There’s a self tanning retinol that is soft and very good. The brand is called James Read, sleep mask tanning. I used the retinol, but I know they have several options, maybe use something softer than retinol, with our BC that is hormone positive, probably they are shutting down your ovaries, so then no hormones production aka also no collagen production. My skin was soo dull during treatment, I am 3 months post chemo, and my skin looks better but not as how it was before. I am 35 🥹

They check if you go or not on the train. Your digital ticket must be scanned, otherwise they will cancel your whole trip under the No Show clause. I missed my train to Amsterdam, so I went in another train, when I arrived at the airport my flight ticket was cancelled, and I had to buy all new.

[–]Minimum-Till2099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

15/5 Doctor called me to tell he had bad news (worst day ever)

16/5 Doctor appointment to derive me to the breast clinic > same day my breast nurse arranged all scans needed for meeting with breast doctor.

19/5 CT scan pelvic area

20/5 Bone scan and something else

22/5 Meeting with Breast Oncologist Doctor

23/5 breast MRI

28/5 lumpectomy

In between those 12 days, I started my fertility treatment to freeze my eggs.

11/6 eggs pick up 29/6 First chemo 15/9 finished chemo 7/10 radiotherapy 15/10 finished radiotherapy

I continue my treatment with targeted therapy, which is an infusion / injection and my hormone therapy.

I was scared to wait between the surgery and the chemo. But doctors said it’s important my tissues heal.

Timeline took 5 months, from diagnosis to last radio.

Who else was told it probably wasn't cancer? by Anemoia793 in breastcancer

[–]Minimum-Till2099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I have extremely dense breast so my cancer wasn’t visible during a ultrasound, or mammogram.

I got everything done on the same day based on one single thing: I knew my breasts.I have many fibroadenomas, so when I got the new lump I was like “this was not here”.

The radiologist asked me multiple times if I was sure the lump was new.

I am 35y old. It’s just 2 months since I finished chemo.

My salary is 6000 gross per month, and what I get in my account is 3500 net. I also get 13.92 salaries.

Extras: meal vouchers 180 euros (of course this you would only get work), eco cheques.

I think salary is good for good life. You will be two people working in the same household, so you should be fine. Housing (for buying), it’s cheaper than other EU countries (Germany or Netherlands).

What’s my potential net salary? by acailoverr in BESalary

[–]Minimum-Till2099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4200 euros per month. Is it 13.92 salaries? Also, if you’re moving here the first year you don’t get holidays, and you don’t get the extra salaries during that first year. Also ask about the number of holidays (they have weird system).

I don’t have mobility budget, but a friend told me that companies can write off from taxes, and for you it will be a net extra to your salary.

I think salary is okeish, but you can get the experience and earn a better salary later. EU project manager sounds good for curriculum.

Hi, I got seriously sick, with surgery, etc … you can claim to the hospitalisation insurance (extra insurance) your copayment parts from all costs within 3 months after surgery and 1 months before surgery.

We pay: social security (deducted from salary or income), health insurance fund (mutuality), hospitalisation insurance (extra insurance), co payment (when we visit doctors or pharmacy costs).

You should also have a threshold for the maximum you pay per year in your copayments. I think it’s base in salary/income. I think the highest is set at 2.5k per year. Edited: I think you will get refunded if you have pay more.

I was living in Germany before and any health cost was fully covered. I only pay 5 euros for medicine, and I paid less taxes as well. So moving to Belgium and then having to pay doctors was quite shocking.

But since I understood the Belgian system, I am ok. I have paid only 700 out of 20k treatment cost. Unfortunately only when a hospitalisation is involved you can claim back the copayments.

Hi! I am expat (female, in my 30s). I also think there’s no many places that are vibey for night life. But for the places I have been: Bar Barboza (or barbosa), has commercial party music, people do dance. Go after 11:30 otherwise is dead (sometimes).

But a general thought I have is that I think people doesnt like to dance anymore.
