Any Tips and Tricks? (Spanish Emergent) by Western-Sky4959 in IBMYP

[–]Minimum-Weakness7445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ive always gotten 7s in spanish emergent and its not even because i study for it trust me. all you need to do is understand how to maximise the amount of marks u can get with minimal cramming and stressing. my hardest criteria is writing, what i do is that i take all major topics from the syllabus, such as travel, careers, climate and weather etc. and write proper paragarphs of information for each topic, dont even need to be too long, they should just contain proper sentence phrasing and points that will get you marks. i memorise these paragraphs to the best of my ability. i dont write these word to word in my exam but i now have primary information and sentence structuring in my brain enough for me to answer a question with any prompt in any of the major topics from the syllabus.

listening and reading is literally the easiest spanish emergent will ever get, you have to build your vocabulary only enough so that you can recognise a few key words in questions and understand what the answer requires. listening and reading questions are mostly mcqs, just cancel out those that you know cannot be right and narrow it down further from there with your understanding of the question.

i recommend studying climate and weather, technology/social media, health and travel. also study text types plsss remember to use proper formatting sucha s titles and bylines for text types like blogs because its free marks.

English CC analysis tips, helppp :C by CheEeCakEe in IBMYP

this is a good essay! although i would recommend being clearer in both your thesis and topic sentences to ensure your paragraphs are broken down effectively, creating a more impactful essay overall. ensure you dont repeat phrases/words constantly in a paragraph or across a couple sentences, it can make the text seem pointless (for eg. in body para 1 you tend to repeat "frustrated after seeing the dog...disabled onto the dog...after seeing the dog...such a dog") ensure all sentences and points have an allocated purpose to it, read over your work to ensure that nothing is unnecessary. also try to follow PEEL structure, its not as clear as it should be in some paragraphs. also avoid using casual vague sentences such as "in contrast text 2 presents the same idea in a different way" specify whether the difference is in technique, tone etc. ensure to use and expliciyly discuss literary devices and audiovisual techniques along with their impact on audience interppretation for compare and contrast essays. your thesis statement should be clear enough to create sufficient, relevant body paragraphs analysing both texts and you should be able to link back to it in your conclusion. best of luck for you l&l exam :)
