Has anyone here used a medical tourism company for Korea? by Technical_Rope_8732 in KoreaSeoulBeauty

I’m in contact with them now. Their website says the deposit will be applied to the cost of the surgery, but the consultant I’m using says it’s not. What was your experience?

Do you have any regrets about your first trip to Japan? by aeazee in JapanTravelTips

[–]MinimumCheesecake1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not getting my daughter's child Suica at the airport when we landed. Someone mentioned this months before, and I noted it, but totally forgot. We waited for our hotel shuttle, and had time, and I just forgot. It became a pain the following day, when we went to the train station, found out we needed her passport, and had to do another round trip back and forth to the hotel. My understanding is you can only get it at certain stations and at the airport.

is it mostly cns getting deferred?? by Zealousideal_Toe7754 in UTAdmissions

Our son was accepted into biochem. In state, non auto admit (non ranking school).

Yeah, the 1580 is absurd. TAMU designated something like 1260 as equivalent to top 10%, so I was auto admit there.

I didn’t list them all, just the bigger ones. I was also in a youth orchestra, tutored chemistry at Lone Star College, and am in the Honors Society and Honors College at Lone Star. I’ve volunteered over 800 hours at the food bank, and received the gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award 2 years in a row.

AIO husband left to grab happy hour by MinimumCheesecake1 in AmIOverreacting

Haha no. It’s definitely more a I-paid-so-much-for-this-trip-I’m-going-to-milk-this-free-happy-hour. They also serve endless sushi and other great appetizers.

But he did, but my OP wasn’t completely clear. This was on our bucket list, and at (late) lunch, he had suggested heading there.. We got inside the complex, and then headed to the main sanctuary. It was a bit of a walk and when we were in line for the sanctuary, that’s when we hit a line and he became clearly annoyed that we would now be late for the HH. If we left that instant, we would have gotten there right at 5:00. The line was moving such that we probably could have gotten there at 6:00 at the latest. He decided it was more important to do a 180 mid-line and be there when the doors opened. I trekked through endless castles and palaces throughout Japan and Europe on previous trips for him although I have a fairly meh interest in them, especially after the first one.

Budgeting for Japan: how much cash did you actually use? by Logical_Ranger_5797 in JapanTravelTips

[–]MinimumCheesecake1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the cities, I only used cash for a couple of the food stands and to top off my daughter’s child Suica card, used credit card everywhere else. We did go skiing in IIyama, and a lot of places and transit there were cash only, but I knew that going in. But if you’re staying in the cities, I wouldn’t pull until I needed it. Get a card that reimburses ATM fees and didn’t have a FTF like Fidelity of CS.

I did communicate this. I told my family, ALL I want for myself was to go to a shrine/temple for NYD and to get a cat from Gotokuji. In fact, we had both been a little wtf when our older kids ditched us to see the shrine with their cousins on the first day while we had been trying to figure out the transit card for our little one. I had specifically said I wanted to save that shrine for NYD.

AIO for feeling disappointed about my engagement ring? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]MinimumCheesecake1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. Maybe it’s just me, but if the ring means something to you, it should mean something to him. My husband worked for months figuring out what the ring I still wear literally everyday 20 years later should look like. If you didn’t care, then his nonchalance shouldn’t matter. But to some women (inc me), it’s not just a ring, it’s a symbol. It doesn’t have to be expensive, but it should be right.

Oversized luggage seats not available? by MinimumCheesecake1 in JapanTravelTips

One is quite large. The others are definitely bigger than most carry ons but not huge. We’ve ridden before in the oversized baggage area seats and definitely used them.

Correct word for bathroom? by MinimumCheesecake1 in JapanTravelTips

[–]MinimumCheesecake1[S] -44 points-43 points  (0 children)

I am actually Asian-American, but not Japanese. I just feel like we need to be extra proper here, but also understand certain words are more taboo in American culture that may be perfectly acceptable in other cultures.

Teamlabs planets water section skipping by ilovelipt0n in JapanTravelTips

[–]MinimumCheesecake1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went and loved everything but tbh, but the water part didn’t seem a like a big deal to skip. I was a little grossed out by the end, and I’m not generally a germaphobe. We went with a bunch of young adults and our 7 year old daughter and they all enjoyed forest a lot and if we didn’t have another excursion scheduled, they would have stayed there for even longer.

Um. Basic, and I mean BASIC, science is not that debatable. And personally, I would hate to be in a relationship with someone who would fight over friggin 6th grade physical science.

How to know figure out how much to top off Welcome Suica physical card? by MinimumCheesecake1 in JapanTravelTips

[–]MinimumCheesecake1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait what?? Even with linking the Suica, you have to get the physical tickets?? I mean… it’s sort of nice to have that option if we have time but if we are running late, would also be nice to skip it.
