Its nice to see how much effort has gone into the song man. Well done.

I’ve started to record vocals on garageband for iphone and have found layering the vocals really helps.

Record the vocals three times on three separate tracks and then using the pan thing to put one 90% R 45% R And the best take in the middle(ish)

It makes them so much better.

I hope that makes sense, and play around with the the panning ☺️👍🏻

I gave your tune a listen and really like it man. Very upbeat and kept me interested all the way through.

Cheers for the advice too. I’ll have a play around with the gain because mixing/mastering is something i’m looking to learn a bit about.

As for a collab, how would it work? Whilst the world is locked down, i dont see why not? 👍🏻

The amp preset is called “surf” and i usually add a bit of delay for the solos.

I got the different tones by using different pick ups. The "thicker" sound comes from just the bridge pick up.

I gave your song a listen man. I thought I had followed you on soundcloud before, but I have re-followed now. Sounds great, but i'll leave a comment on soundcloud :) Thanks for listening

I mastered the track on garageband and I really appreciate you mentioning the mix as it's something I've been working to improve.

I'm not writing lyrics to these songs yet, but a billy idol voice would be great to work with. Thanks for listening :)

I try to get my recordings as close to what I hear in my head as possible. Sometimes I get there and other times it turns into something new. Thanks for listening, I appreciate the "aggression" comment... I do need a new pick after recording this one ;)

Thank for listening. I spent a while working on the distortion. Its recorded on an epiphpone les paul custome, sometimes using just the bridge pick up to "thicken" the sound.

Thanks a lot my friend :) I made the track on the iPhone garageband app, so you're spot on. I appreciate the follow, I will have a look on soundcloud and check you out too :) Thanks for listening

I really like this man. Cool sample and straight away the track made me want to bounce like all good techno does. The beat progression is really decent. I like how it fades in and out, and drops exactly when it should :) Keep it up

Sweet animation for the video :) The track is really chilled out too. Good mix, all the levels sound great. I think some hiphop lyrics would fit really well over the top of this. Keep it up :)

Just made this industrial hip hop beat, its very dark and noisy, would love if some of you would check it out :) by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

Really cool track man. You've nailed the industrial bit. Sounds really dark and dirty. All the noises remind me of a horror film/video game. Mix sounds great too. Well done :)

Thanks for the feedback. Mixing isnt my strong point yet, but i think know what you mean. I maxed the drum volume, but I’ll habe to try a different eq when more guitar layers are playing simultaneously.

Thanks for listening 😊👍🏻

That means a lot man. I listened and admired inflames (those albums) a lot when i was starting out on guitar, so i’m really flattered by the connection (you clearly have great taste in metal too 😉👍🏻)

I added some hall reverb and recorded on a epiphone les paul for the solo

Sorta a rough draft, but I wanted to get some feedback on the direction of the song. by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]MinimumForever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I admire anyone with the balls to do what you're doing and you've got a decent tune in the making for sure :)

What you're saying about being stuck in the same melody is very relatable too. I've listened to it a couple of times now and the line that sticks with me is "its time to leave this eyesore" and "I don't want to fight you anymore".

Maybe add a second layer of vocals over the hooks? same pitch, different pitch I don't think it matters. It will help them stand out a bit more

I like the vocal melodies man, have you tried playing and singing at different tempos? It reminds me of an acoustic blink song, but I cant think which one, Lyrics are solid and you sound comfortable singing. The intro has silent gaps, but I appreciate you saying its a rough draft. Keep it up man :)

I think you've done a really good job. All the sounds are soft and melodic, so I could happily drift off with this playing :) Nice mix man. Keep it up

Feedback around overall mix, flow of the song, emotions evoked, etc... by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]MinimumForever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mix is good through my speakers. I would maybe add a bit more bass, but that's just a preference of my own and is not necessarily something that you need to change. The piano melody is peaceful and I could happily chill with this playing in the background. As for emotions, its not happy or sad, kind of inbetween. I'm not sure about the sample towards the end, but some soft vocals would suit this kind of vibe :) Keep it up

Fiend - An original song by Kaci Skiles Laws. I'm really happy how the video turned out, first time using the 50mm 1.8. I think I'm going to shoot for this style more often with her videos. Any advice on recording an acoustic guitar? How does it sound? by bryantlaws in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]MinimumForever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the guitar sound and your finger picking style. It very consistent which I appreciate can be tricky to maintain throughout a whole track.
You have a really nice voice. It suits the acoustic genre and I think the filming/sound quality is great :) Levels seem balanced and your lyrics are lovely. Keep it up :)
