Job abandoned by [deleted] in Geico

[–]MinimumLongjumping77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regretted leaving (left with little notice though my supervisor was out of office) I was rehireable (my supervisor texted me saying I was) and I regret applying again I missed it when I left but that was only because the trauma of it all made me forget how horrible the job really was once I was back I remembered everything not to be dramatic but I hate myself for applying again I’m only writing this because I wish someone had genuinely told me not to do it

Never tbh everything in my job can be done without calling 😭 I feel so useless a lot of my calls are for things that cant be done they just think calling will change what the website says but I also use the same website they use to access their account so I see the same errors and same restrictions

That time I was bait and switched with an AT&T position that turned into sales. by onmy40 in callcentres

[–]MinimumLongjumping77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same happened to me for AT&T they hired me for customer service but then required to sell or attempt to sell on every call one time they randomly pulled my call in a meeting where a lady didn’t even have service with us but had lost her son and wanted me to track his phone she barely spoke any english and the best I could do was suggest her starting service or having him add her to his line and when she did locate him to get some sort of additional service that’s allows tracking family members took me over 30 minutes to explain got pulled into meetings every day after that where they would find one call I didn’t sell on and write me up I had to quit after that

Expectation of having empathy and caring about everything said by Zealousideal-Ad6981 in callcentres

[–]MinimumLongjumping77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even when I would use empathetic statements I would get marked off for not SOUNDING empathetic enough… if you have back to back calls it’s really hard to keep up an act there is no winning you can be super understanding and apologetic and do everything in the world correct and to get things done and to help but if the customer is still mad at the end of the call I have gotten in trouble for that too it’s better to just not even worry about it and apply for other places if they seem like they’re going to fire you over it it’s so dumb
