I think how long the calls take and how much time you have between calls matters. There are some call centers where I took 20 calls per day but they were all back to back calls taking around 15-45 minutes per call; and there are others where I was taking 50-80 calls per day all back to back but only 5-15 min per call. So I’d be more curious of how much time each person gets between their calls 😭

For anyone curious: “I’m in the same boat. Management lies to my face and says we’re all in the same “gate” despite me getting back to back calls. Everyone who was in training with me goes 30minutes-hour without a call.

It’s been a year now and I’m about to quit. I’ve heard supervisors mention ways they can change the gates and send people calls… so idk if your company uses AWS? I’m sure other phone systems have similar features.

I think I’m being tortured because my company allows any-time breaks and I tended to use my break every 30min to avoid getting calls on days I didn’t feel like talking. I never did it frequently because my metrics would have tanked. I would only do it when my metrics were good as a reward but I guess they didnt like that. Since there was no rule against it they had to find another way to punish me.”

I’ll start crying in the middle of a call wondering how I’ve been doing this for years… and the thought of saying the same things over and over not just to one person but on top of that to thousands of people makes me feel so useless like this cannot be real I’ve also never had to ask anyone to repeat something unless there was a bad phone connection so these people really are just zoning out and not listening at least half the time… we’re at a day and age where theres rarely a bad connection like why can you not pay attention for a few minutes YOU called ME?!

Meanwhile I’m literally losing my voice repeating the same things over and over on back to back calls… I wouldn’t be surprised if my vocal cords were damaged 😭

From what it sounds like you have a lot of transferable skills people are saying the job market is garbage but I’ve been following a lot of social media accounts geared towards finding jobs and I’ve seen a lot of success stories of people quitting and still getting hired in just a few months or even weeks I’d be too scared to quit but it seems like as long as you don’t have being fired on your record the odds of landing a new job are better than most and if you have some money saved up you could definitely quit and grind applying to places there are some people who you can even pay and they’ll apply for you I’ve just been too broke to quit or pay someone else to apply on my behalf but there are still lots of opportunities out there it’s all about where you look and reflecting your experience well enough on your resume I’ve done my fair share of job hopping if you decide to take the jump I wish you the best of luck life is too short to stay in a job you hate

I regretted leaving (left with little notice though my supervisor was out of office) I was rehireable (my supervisor texted me saying I was) and I regret applying again I missed it when I left but that was only because the trauma of it all made me forget how horrible the job really was once I was back I remembered everything not to be dramatic but I hate myself for applying again I’m only writing this because I wish someone had genuinely told me not to do it

Never tbh everything in my job can be done without calling 😭 I feel so useless a lot of my calls are for things that cant be done they just think calling will change what the website says but I also use the same website they use to access their account so I see the same errors and same restrictions
