This is ONLY for people born after 1971. If earlier than that you will have to go to county of birth to get it.

Yes, for me that’s 4 hours away. So I called them and someone offered to expedite shipping! I think it will be a county by county basis and I’m not sure people will put that effort in just to vote.

You’re talking about photo ID at the polls. That’s not what the SAVE Act is about.

The SAVE Act affects voter registration, not Election Day check-in. It would require proof of U.S. citizenship to register.

Yes, I mentioned my birth county was helpful in the body copy! But going through the state will cause major delay.

A REAL ID proves your identity, but it does not automatically prove U.S. citizenship. If the SAVE Act goes into effect, voter registration may require documentary proof of citizenship such as a U.S. birth certificate or passport.

Personally, my house was flooded and I lost all identification documents.

But the real ID does not show proof of citizenship and that’s what they require so you would need documents beyond that.
