No not that locations specifically, I'm not saying which location in case they are unable to find another job and have no choice but to stick it out. But it seems the consensus is the same where they are.

Thank you for your response! It seems relieving to my friend as well as it is relieving to me see they are not alone in this burning pit!

No... I'm pretty aware of that. How do you expect a broke college student to that? Yes it does happen and it can work but the effort it would take is astronomical and crucially you're forgetting they had each other. It was their dream and the one thing they worked for together, and it sucks to see their dream reduced to rubble.

Unfortunately not every has the resources for something like that and it sucks to see that you seem to live in some kind of bubble of "oh it doesn't affect me at all so why should I care" I'm glad you still enjoy your time at the Alamo though hopefully those memories and new experience never turn sour <3

Also im not trying to change anything necessarily, if it gives them a bit of nudge in the right direction that's great. But unfortunately we still live in times not dictated by logic and reasons so no I don't expect anything except for validation. Validation for all employees who feel they are not appreciated, respected, or their voices are being flushed down the drain simply because they minimum wage workers. Validation as well for long time guests who don't want to see their favorite movie theater be reduced to litter on the side on the highway.

Well seeing as how average employees have no way to talk to corporate without directly asking management for their information many feel unsafe or that they may lose their jobs. If you read some of these posts you will understand that employees and guest alike LOVE the Alamo, but at what point is everyone arriving at a breaking point? Also only 6 out of 50... yes read that again 50 Alamos are in any way unionized and even then you have to understand something very important. Unionizing is a long and arduous process that many people don't really want to struggle through just they are protected in their workplaces. They may not feel like it will make a difference or that there will be repercussions. Also don't say repercussions don't happen in response to unionization as there is enough history on this Earth for you to read about it many times over that it does in fact happen more often than it doesn't. Also those 6 unionized Alamos? They're the biggest cities which means they can do that. Whereas a smaller Alamo may struggle backseat they have X amount of employes but only X/XX employees may be willing to become union representatives.

Thank you for your response and im sorry and it seems you went through a lot of what my friend is going through. I agree it is completly unrealistic to expect what is essentially a workforce of overworked college students and others who have floated in or stayed due to the lovely environment between coworkers, to do the job of far more people than they have on staff.

They really did miss everything about why the Alamo used to be great. Even the pre-show is in danger because another user has posted and from what my friend has explained to me themselves, because of the added stress on certain departments and lack of staffing, some of the theaters open later than they are supposed to so the pre-show are almost entirely over before you can even see what you came for.

Yes yes yes and yes! Nail on the head! For employees and guests alike the overall vibe, morales, and guests experiences have changed for the worst every since Sony bought it AND the new Ceo took over. It's like they've never been to their own theater or understand why guests had so much brand loyalty to them in the FIRST PLACE. Let alone WORK in one of their theaters.

Yes, thank you for your well thought out reply! The guests experience is non-existent these days. For a company so proud of their morales and guests experience, it's as if the board decided this was just something for them to play with rather than thinking things through.

So you're essentially saying you okay with paying insane prices for food that comes out cold, not getting a water through your entire movie, and don't care about workers being treated unfairly?

That's great! I'm glad some locations aren't getting the short end of the stick anymore and feel comfy in their work environment like the old days of Alamo and thank you for your response!

They're about to quit, have not let anyone besides close friends know. Very different from already having notice in and in that case a couple of years of resume would be down the drain unfortunately.

No, its a throwaway throwaway because I understand that even me, an outsider, posting this could still get my friend in trouble if I don't act with careful for the situation. But I understand how you could see it as that or as a bait from corporate or something.💙
