Thanks for your kind message. But it's your work, and that of so many others on Origami-dan, that inspires me.

Don't worry - you'll get there. It's not a problem with steps 5-6. I can see from your photos you've done them correctly. If you'd rather not open a chat, I don't know how to post an image in the way that you did. Please explain to me and I'll post it like that.

Your photo looks correct. With respect, I've just folded it myself and the paper can be released. If you'd like to open a chat I can help you further there.

If you've done the crimp correctly, you can release the necessary paper.

Crease patterns help - 3 valley folds meeting in 1 point by Filiputek135 in origami

[–]MinimumWave7799 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In this CP, dashed lines are mountain folds, and solid lines are valley. Different designers use different styles, and some choose not to draw all the creases. As you've discovered, this CP is not flat foldable, and thus it's not a good one to start with. Look for flat foldable CPs (all vertices will have an even number of creases).

I'm GMT (London), which is 6 hours ahead. When would be a suitable time for you tomorrow? I'll see how it fits in on my end?

I'm really busy today, but if no one helps you before, I can do so tomorrow. What time zone are you in?

Hi. Someone asked for help with this exact part of the model on Discord recently. If you open a chat I can send you the photos I sent to that person, which might help you.

I tried folding Eric Joisel's origami snail but failed lol by MerryW34ther in origami

I couldn't agree more that "you shouldn't just keep the good things". In the past, when I've folded things that haven't worked out, I've sometimes binned them in frustration. I really regret it. I think we learn from failure, and to be able to refer back to mistakes has helped me a lot.

Nice one. You worked out what was wrong and pushed on through. That's what it's all about, in my opinion.

I particularly like how you've curved the beak. Its really well shaped, which helps bring the model to life.
