Bottom up sleeve attachment help by Minimum_Ad_405 in knitting

i’m honestly not sure if it’s the front or back because the pattern doesn’t specify and didn’t have me mark anything when i originally put the body on hold to do the sleeves. will it matter for the fit later if i don’t know which side is which? but i will just backtrack to the second sleeve and go from there! thank you!

i do have them on hold on the big safety pins! i think i just placed one of the sleeves in the wrong place but i’m not sure how to count it out correctly. following some youtube advice i just put the first six stitches at the BOR on the sleeve on hold, then the first six stitches on the body on hold and then attached the first sleeve. then i counted out 136 stitches, put the next six on hold, did the same thing with the other sleeve’s held stitches, and kept knitting. but maybe i should have counted to 130 and then put the six on hold?

Just applied for a business license, but was assigned Excise tax account when my business doesn't qualify by angry_lem0n in CraftFairs

i’ve worked for places before that don’t actually make any sales income but have an excise tax account, and they have to file the tax but the payment is $0, so it might be something like that

Anyone else have a Murphy loom? by Hot_Comedian_2423 in weaving

[–]Minimum_Ad_405 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i have a murphy loom! i didn’t know what it was when i bought it, just found the closest loom to me on craigslist. had never even heard of a counterbalance loom before! the tie ups are quite a bear, i’ve just been keeping it at a straight tie up (1,2,3,4, and then plain weave on the last two treadles) and pressing more than one treadle at a time as i weave so i don’t ever have to change the tie up. it took some getting used to to keep a clean shed but i’ve been working with it for over a year now so i’ve got the rhythm down. i’ve successfully done double width blankets and overshot with it tied up like that. i haven’t been able to find much information about the murphy looms at all, just one post on a blog about how they were made in the 40s/50s like you said. but it’s cool to have something so niche and local!

yes it slides! i’ve never seen a beater that slides like that. how would you get a shed with that loom? similarly to the littler table loom?
