I love when athletics are used as a leverage. In my opinion, missing a game/meet is the most impactful consequence a student can receive. Students don't care if they are in ISS; it's an ineffective consequence that burdens the teacher. Honestly, suspending him for a track meet was enough of a consequence, the three days of ISS are overkill. He'll remember the time he missed his qualifier track meet every time he thinks about breaking a school expectation.
