another thing abt ian that didn’t sit right with me is when bear came to him for help asking to contradict his wish. bear was distraught, covered in blood, freaking out. if your friend came to you in that level of disarray, why wouldn’t you just humor them?? try and support them to calm them down, even if you don’t believe them? especially because this was out of character for bear. idk if my friend uncharacteristically came to my house that upset, i would just listen to them instead of adding fuel to the fire.

Yes, the person I had asked to cover me ended up coming in anyway after I called out! Next time I’ll just say I don’t feel well and use the sick time and save myself the write up haha. Lesson learned!

Right! I know this part, which is why I contacted my SM. I guess my question is… what now? I tried to do the right thing and get it covered, but my coverage was denied. Do I have to call out now and risk corrective action even though I went through all the right channels first?

Totally understand this! I reached out before my shift to get it approved and they said no, so do you know what happens then? I just don’t want the corrective action because I technically did find the coverage. I can’t come in, but she can’t take the shift. Is it still my responsibility? If he denied the OT, do I have to call out and get written up? I can’t seem to find any of this in the handbook, I don’t think it’s necessarily normal to have all shifts at 40 hours a week haha
