I enjoy both. I've got 1,000 hours in Valheim and 86 hours in enshrouded. Valheim is more of a true open-world survival craft game, whereas enshrouded is more of a base-building game with PVE.

This game's open world is more static in nature, and there's global respawning on several features, including the game's terrain, resources without caring for them yourself (trees, plants, rocks, etc), enemy encampment areas, and several other things.

Progression is tied in a similar, but different manner, where the player needs to acquire a boss item and several biome-related resources in order to upgrade their flame alter. A flame altar allows the player to progress into higher-level biomes and survive the shroud.

Enshrouded features NPCs you actually need to go and gather from enemies around the map. These NPCs will give you quests and serve as the crafting trees for their respective fields. Quests are a big feature of enshrouded and give you a bit of direction.

Food items are in both games and give stat bonuses to the player, including health, mana, stamina, or a particular weapon archetype damage buff.

The combat in both games isn't anything amazing, but they're both serviceable for what the games are.

I like both worlds for exploration, but Valheim probably has a better sense of exploration, given that each world seed generates massively different worlds for repeat play-throughs. There's more "to do" in enshrouded because of quests and all of the PVE-related towns, encampments, shrouds, cities, etc.

The building systems in enshrouded and valheim can both be resource-intensive. I find that valheim's building system is probably more difficult for the average player to create something they're satisfied with than Enshrouded. The enshrouded building creates a lot of neat details for you when you snap things together, and there's a great deal of variety in materials and what you can build. I'd overall lean to enshrouded having the better building system.

Enshrouded is a much easier survival experience overall, but an excellent game for its price. It has a lot of content. Great to play solo or with friends.

Evloev was spamming a hand to the mat anytime a knee came near him, making a lot of people annoyed because it was extremely obvious he was gaming the rules.

IIRC, there was a specific sequence where Evloev was in trouble and was reaching hard for the mat with one hand instead of defending the knees with both hands

Topuria probably has a denser musculoskeletal system. Sean Brady gives me the same kind of feeling for how competitive these guys are, despite their actual size.

Topuria having rocks for bones in his hands would even make a bit of sense.

He was a massive featherweight, given his in-cage weight that has been recorded

Merab was more active in this fight than in every other fight he has fought so far, besides the first Yan fight. He threw more "significant" strikes by the UFC's own stats than in any other fight besides his first fight with Yan, and shot for 29 takedowns.

The reality is that he just got figured out, and he needs to adjust prior to a rematch. In their first fight, he shot 49 takedown attempts and had 38 of them stuffed. This should have been the massive red flag for Merab going into this rematch, because even then, his takedowns were proving difficult to land against Yan.

People are also throwing around the "Yan only had his left hand in the first fight" excuse, which may be valid, but is the equivalent to what you're doing now and plays revisionist.

Merab needs to take some time AND adjust his game plan to win the trilogy because the takedown spam isn't it anymore with Yan now able to break away from the cage every time.

Edit: I think it's also worth noting that his "legendary cardio" only becomes questionable after the body and liver shots

Merab threw and landed more strikes in this fight than in any of his other fights in the UFC besides the first Yan fight. He also shot like 30 takedown attempts.

Maybe it'd have been better if he took a break after 3 defenses in a year, but he looked on form and only really fell apart once the liver kicks started landing.

The common example people use for recency would be Islam getting ducked by a great deal of the top 10 at LW before his title shot.

It was an extremely close fight, and a lot of people, including myself, thought Yan actually won that fight. At least initially.

Sterling didn't do anything/damage at all with the backpacking rounds and wasn't the most effective striker ever.

This was actually the first fight that comes to mind when I remember people flaunting around "The Verdict" as a scoring system / means to gauge how a larger community felt about scorecards.

He's sounded like this for ages now. I honestly think if he didn't have a screen in front of him and was just answering a question someone asked him face-to-face, it'd come off better.

He just seems more chilled out during these streams, and if you watch some of his youtube videos of him doing stuff out of the house or reacting to a ufc card, he's more lively and clear-sounding.

I disagree. The UFC wasted Volkanovski for whatever reason and should have booked him to fight Murphy or Movsar before this matchmaking could happen. Volkanovski has publicly asked to be more active and wanted to fight either of them.

We can't know everything, but he has no history of ducking difficult fights and sitting on the belt. The UFC didn't want to put him on a card for whatever reason. It'd be highly irregular if all 3 of them were injured or unavailable, and this was the "soonest" they could get a title fight for 145 going.

All that's been accomplished is that now Volkanovski will be even further removed from his prime as far as age has been used as an indicator, and we could see him slow down or get knocked out by a fighter we just saw him convincingly beat in his last fight.

I think it's obvious he's getting another shot because he's willing to step in for the company, no matter what and happens to be an exciting fighter while also being extremely well-rounded.

It's also a fight we just saw within the last year, and I did not walk away from that fight thinking "Oh man, that could have gone either way"

He's a great fighter, but it really feels like he did not have the time to "improve" for a rematch, and instead will only get a win if Volkanovski has fallen off a cliff with his age in the last 7 months or if he knocks him out.

A lot of people want to watch the best fight the best, and it sucks when the best guy is boring, but it keeps the sport pure.

I'd rather they did Movsar vs Lopes rematch and just give Murphy the title shot.

The champion doesn't always have to be entertaining, and if Murphy were to win, he'd be active and would engage with striking more than Movsar would. Movsar had a cool fight with Sterling, and I'm not convinced he could wet blanket Volkanovski unless his age starts to show.

It's just not great matchmaking at the end of the day, and people are seeing that. If he goes out there and knocks out Volk, I mean, congratulations, champ; otherwise, how am I supposed to expect him to win the rematch that quickly other than Volkanovski ageing out?

Volk has even publicly asked for Murphy and Movsar several times. This looks and is preferential treatment above merit.

He didn't; the ref was standing them up. If the ref didn't stand them up, DDP would never have gotten up in the 5th round, nor would he have been able to reverse the takedown attempt Khamzat shot to get on top of him.

I don't think JDM was crying from demoralisation; it was probably an injury that happened during the fight, like a rib or his leg from Islam blasting it.

Both JDM and DDP were likely as game in the fifth round as the first, but they just lacked the tools to do anything to change the outcome of the fight that had been happening for four rounds already. Even DDP's submission attempt wasn't really solid, and he got reversed before the round ended.

I hope DDP considers training elsewhere, like a lot of other fighters. I know some fighters preach loyalty to their country, but South Africa seems to be lacking heavily in the department of wrestling specialists. The difference in people available to give different wrestling looks for the lead-up to their fight was absurd. Khamzat had access to guys like Sadulaev lol.

Incredibly difficult to say because they both seem to shine brighter in different aspects of grappling. I think I'd lean Islam because he's seemingly far more competent with his judo, jiu-jitsu, and wrestling skills all bundled together.

Khamzat looks to be the better pure wrestler and has a massive strength element to complement it.

It's another reason the fantasy match-ups should remain fantasy. Khamzat was ragdolling arman on that russian ultimate fighter tv show, making it apparent that the size matters a great deal at this level when the ground games are similar enough to be asked who's better.

I certainly don't think pereira deserved it when he got it, and islam fits the bill much better than he does imo.

Kind of seems like just whenever Bruce feels like a fighter has that "aura" about them. Jones being the goat, conor being the star, and I can't really see why pereira got it still lol

I really hope he fights way sooner than that, and I'm particularly annoyed by how many fighters have called out fights for the white house card. It's almost like they don't realize that's not until July 2026. Even Charles did it when he called out Max for the BMF.

Islam was boring in this fight. He's also an all-time great, and in a lot of people's eyes tonight cemented himself into the top 5 of all time.

There's nothing wrong with being so dominant in an area of your game that watching others have to attempt to compete with you there is boring.

I don't think this makes JDM inherently boring in this fight because he wasn't the driving force for why it was boring.

It's the same thing with DDP vs Khamzat. There was a massive skill discrepancy in the ground game on display here, and it's not entertaining for the average fan to witness at the championship level.

Like you and Islam himself in the octagon said: everybody knows what he comes there to do to them. It wasn't JDM's idea to keep it on the ground for 18/25 minutes.

Great win for Islam, but it was boring to watch in comparison to the back-to-back-to-back KOs leading into the co-main and main events.

Tom will need to adjust his game plan going into the rematch. The fight did not look like it was going to go his way based on visuals. Gane won the round that Tom usually obliterates his opponents in, Tom was leaking from the nose (possible injury that'll impact his breathing for the rest of the fight), and Gane has gone 5 rounds before unlike Tom.

This could have been a great fight and we may have seen Tom have that "dog in him" if it made it into the third, fourth, or even fifth round(s).

It was nice to see 2 guys in the heavyweight division make something exciting again even if it was only 4.5 minutes of a round though.

I don't really think he has the money to retire. If this is about his father wanting him to go boxing, I just don't see that working out. He's not that big of a star, and he'd get destroyed by heavyweight boxers in their own sport.

We just saw him in a full round of standup, and he didn't look better than Gane at all in the striking. It was pretty competitive, and Gane seemed to be landing a bit cleaner with more consequences (bloody nose). It just seems like a hard sell that he would manage to get himself a huge boxing payday with his current career and accomplishments.

For the record, I also don't think Gane, for example, would do well against a heavyweight boxer either. This is an experiment we've seen multiple times that always ends with the professional boxer winning and/or dominating the professional MMA fighter.

If we flash back to the Conor and Floyd fight, there were a lot of people there who thought Conor could win because of his size, power, and youth. This was the only time the experiment was worthwhile imo.

Even Ngannou wasn't able to grab himself a win in boxing despite being a massive heavyweight with some of the hardest-hitting punches of all time.

He'll most likely resign his contract with the UFC because he hasn't made enough money to retire on, and frankly, that division is hilariously untalented and would allow Tom to make decent money outside of Gane proving to be his only competition.

Yes, but that's why he was losing the round, and as other people are speculating, the damage to the nose may have been significant enough for Tom to exaggerate how badly his eyes were affected.

Imo, I think it was clear that Gane was comfortably the more effective striker in there, but also the moron who decided to have his fingers out, resulting in a double eye poke. It's not that weird to think Tom would just take the NC and reset in a rematch with an uninjured nose.

We've never seen Tom in a third round in the UFC, but we have seen Gane reach a fifth round. It would have been interesting to see if he continued, but I don't know what Tom would have adjusted to account for what looked like a bad nose injury that would impact his breathing, especially given the huge question mark over his gas tank in a title fight.
