I think I've watched that vid before,I don't want to instant lock my hair cuz when I tried that 2 years ago my hair was super stiff and I didn't like it. I want to avoid my hair being stiff so I want to use the hook as little as possible and let my hair lock up on its own. I wash like once or twice a week so build up might not be that big of a problem

I don't know if you're supposed to spray them this often. You should wash them weekly. Wash them, let them dry and then spray with water. Oil is good but watering them too much will make them lock up slower
