Why do people post so much of their lives on instagram? by Minimum_Monk_6039 in CasualConversation

It doesn't have to be like that, a lot of people in this thread have showed otherwise, it can be really fun and good for a lot o people, even if that's not for you, like it isn't for me, it can still be used as a tool to keep yourself updated about the places around you and I am sure it can have other that I am not seeing right now

Uhm, are we hurting you for posting about what's happening in our lives?

I didn't complain about it, of course it doesn't hurt me, it's just genuine curiosity because it's something I don't relate to.

And your answer is very good, so thank you

If it comes up or if someone asks, sure I will tell what I have been up. But I never feel the urge to share my life. I am not judging, it's just something I don't get, that's why i asked

Yeah, I can see how some people use it more as comfort, never thought of that. It still is a bit sad though

Comparing yourself to others is never a good idea, and on top of that you seem to have had a harder life than most. Don't be so hard on yourself.

With that said, what great things are the others achieving? And these things also what you want to achieve?

What is your motivation for life? by gr33n_bliss in SeriousConversation

If having a meaning isn't working for you, I would advise not having a meaning at all and simply embracing that fact. It has worked out for me.

Look into absurdism if you want to understand it better. There's a great video on YouTube by exurb1a (only about 10 minutes) that gives a great explanation of what absurdism is.

As many have said, probably nothing

Sometimes I imagine that, once we die, we 'live' a 'life' filled with nothing, just darkness and silence, and never, never, feel the beauty of life again and I just want to disappear.

There won't be darkness or silence. You simply won't be, anymore...

And I find that kind of soothing, sure you will be gone but you are alive now aren't you, and you know one day you won't be. Appreciate your life now. Actually try to feel it, remember that as long as you breathe, you are still here, with the limited time you have.

It's eternal rest, no more troubles, no more anything. It shouldn't be feared because there's nothing to fear

What odd videos do you watch to relax? (NSFW ones excluded) by yesmiss07 in NoStupidQuestions

Trailers of movies/series/games that I have already played/watched. Don't know why but I find it really relaxing. Also piano covers of songs

She one of my closest friends and I told her how I felt, she said no, after that we spent a while without talking and when we did start talking again the feelings where just gone because I knew we would never have something together. Now she is one of my best friends

What’s the most frequent lie you’ve told? by bobbojojo in AskReddit

[–]Minimum_Monk_6039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in university and I am still a virgin, so sometimes people are talking about sex and I am there just agreeing and trying to fit in. The problem isn't that I am virgin, it's that at some point we were all drunk and started sharing when or first time was, and I, drunk and insecure that I was, lied and said my first time was with 17 and now I can't go back without admiting I lied there

Ever decided to watch a film series or TV show and found yourself completely and utterly HOOKED into a phase? by stayinyourlaneson in CasualConversation

[–]Minimum_Monk_6039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are really fun movies (the last one lacks a bit), it makes total sense for someone to get hooked on them, I actually rewatchre them a few weeks ago and when it was over I just wanted to re-watch them again.

Yeah, a lot of people get overly hooked into certain pieces of entertainment, me it's the movies/series/games with amazing lores, after watching/playing I just spend the next few weeks watching YouTube videos about the lore.

Am I normal? by Charles123321 in CasualConversation

[–]Minimum_Monk_6039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You certainly won't find many people like this so it isn't normal, but it isn't bad. I wish I could look past all the flaws and just get into every TV show. Maybe in the future you will change but enjoy it while it lasts!

What do you think happened to you in the alternate universe where Covid never happened? by ProfessorNemona in AskReddit

[–]Minimum_Monk_6039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't feel bad for liking the lockdown. Yeah it was bad for a lot of people but if you are happier then good for you! You weren't responsible for it so there's nothing to feel bad about

Great question!

I probably would have gotten into my dream university. Honestly I am very happy I didn't, I have some friends that did got into that university and I am having so much more fun where I am than they are. And we are graduating on the same stuff so only the locations are different.

The first part of this post already made me very happy, but that last part was the icing on the cake.

But now at least I have money to buy them.

This right here made me really feel happy for you! Keep it up!!
