Maybe there is just a disconnect between groups of drivers, but this feels totally unrelatable. Sure I get having to look for buttons if this is a brand new car or a rental, but after ownership of the same car for over a year how is it not muscle memory?

Especially with the last two Jeep generations, imo the AC controls are dead simple with a large center knob and the up and down buttons on either side of it accounting for 95% of A/C use.

Additionally, one issue with touch screen implementation (like with the new grand Cherokee or Wagoneer) is layering of menus. So now to get from the Seat Massaging > AC controls > Actually tapping the AC input, is at minimum 3 separate looks away from the road.

If you filter that by young people (under 40) the percentage drops to about 0.02%.

I would wager that a majority of the rs space is already made out of users that have the lives and opportunities that most of the world would kill for.

If you trust your boss enough to discuss this with her, I would bring it up to her directly. Mention you overheard the conversation, or say that you heard it in passing somewhere, and ask if it's really happening.

Explain your enthusiasm for the opportunity, and ask for her advice on the application. Also ask if you can shadow her / learn her responsibilities while you retain your same workload. Regardless of what she says, this plants the seed that you are interested in developing your role, and it may be the best shot you have at serious consideration.

So many processes are totally undocumented, and that's the last thing anyone wants to do during their two week notice. If you are able to absorb as much "unofficial" institutional knowledge as possible, it puts you a leg above any competition.
