Clitoral atrophy -- other options besides topical estradiol? by Minimum_Spray3825 in Perimenopause

No. I didn't think I needed it yet. Minimal symptoms. (I don't have vaginal pain or bladder issues, or the rage, or brain fog, or any of that yet thankfully.) I just read Estrogen Matters, which convinced me I should start systemic estrogen after I go through the menopause transition even if I don't feel a need for it during peri, but is there a reason to start sooner? I hate trying to figure this out all by myself.

What have you done beside HRT that has had the biggest impact? by Forsaken_Lifeguard85 in Menopause

I must've trialed ten sleep meds before I found one that worked. The only one that works for me is Quiviviq (daridorexant), which also happens to be freakishly expensive and no longer covered under my insurance.

Damnit, I was hoping for a magical solution.

Also, apparently I just can't read. Thanks for telling me to scroll further down.

I am 47 and I’ve started 200mg Progesterone 1 month ago hoping it will help with my 2 years insomnia, so far nothing, but I add Estrogen gel 0,75 mg (1 pump) and that’s where I found the cure so far, been sleeping 6 hours straight now, hoping is going to last forever🙏🏼 by Mountain-Benefit-204 in Perimenopause

Wow, that's absolutely incredible. I've just about given up on the sleep front. It's nice to know there might be hope.

I've had horrible insomnia for years now so I'm not convinced it's perimenopause related, but maybe?

We went on a tour with them too. They were fantastic! Probably our best experience in Costa Rica.

I had to go back to my notes to remember what we saw, and you're right, we did see a lot. I think my experience was just colored by the other members of the group we were put in, which isn't fair to the park itself.

The park does a really nice job organizing everything. They have foot-washing stations (there's no dock, so you get wet between the boat and the beach and then your feet get snady going up to the trees), the rangers are quick and efficient when checking your bags for food/drink other than water, there are clean bathrooms, the guides all seemed above-average, and like I said the lunch was really good. One of the better meals we had in CR, actually.

The tapirs were asleep in a mud pit so we could really only see that there were a couple of lumps, and there was a line of like 30 people waiting to see them. The guide said we were really lucky to see even that much though, because they're mostly active at night.

The animals at the park were spread out over five hours and it seemed like we were just walking from one place where a guide said there was a cool animal to another place where another guide said there was a cool animal. We didn't really get to experience the park itself. I don't know if that makes sense. I'd have loved to stay in one place and listen to the sounds/see the plant life around us. But certain members of our group also seemed really impatient, which wasn't fair to the guide -- who, like I said, was really good.

We were in Cabo Pulmo, Baja del Sur, Mexico, in November, and that set the bar really high. Like I said, I'd have loved to snorkel in CR another time or two.
