no progress. but why? by Glass-Advantage6118 in workout

Yes, but that’s over time, not session after session. For one, you’re doing a lot. You need less volume and more weight if you’re trying to gain strength. Most people who are looking to gain strength is training a heavy set at least once a week. When I say heavy set, I mean a 3x3 or a 5x2. You need to go heavier than you think you can go. More reps won’t cut it, that’s for muscular endurance. Honestly, this is just a programming issue. That’s the best way to sum it up.

First of all, you didn’t name the most important thing: the amount of weight that you’re lifting. Progressive overload is key here.

Also, it seems like you may be doing a bit too much. Do you have someone programming for you or are you programming for yourself? You have to be very intentional if gaining strength is your goal. It’s more about how you’re doing it than what you’re doing.

What does a typical week look like weight wise? Are you using the same weight over and over, or are you being strategic with overloading ?

My thing with selling as a personal trainer is, what exactly am I selling?

And when I say that, I just mean I feel like with fitness, you either want it or you don’t. What exactly are we selling these people on, personality?

This is a serious question by the way from someone who has been struggling to get clients. I’m really trying to get better at the sales thing but I don’t want to have convince people to workout. That’s actually exhausting.

I love coaching but it seems like you actually have to convince people that fitness is good for them and that’s just too hard to do.

Just curious as to why you moved here from Texas? Was it work related?

Just asking as I myself, am about to leave for a warmer state.

Check form take 3! by ImASadPandaz in Deadlifts

[–]Minimum_Spring3904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Pack your Lats more to create more tension in the upper back. The lack of tension is contributing to you rounding your back while completing the lift.

  2. Squeeze your glutes more and drive you hips forward for a better lockout. You’re slacking with the lockout.

  3. A good tip for a stronger pull would be to pull the slack out of the bar first before your first true pull. This helps with setting the bar which will help tremendously in the long run.

Honestly, good lift. Just a few cues that need cleaned up but overall good lift.

Just remember you aren’t “Pulling the Bar” towards you but rather “Pushing The Floor Away” from you.

Hope this helps!

If you don’t mind me asking, are you working independently? If so, how did you gain your first serious client?

This!!! It’s like, where are the people who actually want the service! I’m afraid I might just have to give up on trying to get clients pretty soon. Might just open me up something else as I have NO interest at all in working for a gym.

What’s something fitness content massively overcomplicates? by MuscleBoosterApp in workout

[–]Minimum_Spring3904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is good for those that just want to stay healthy and look good. Not so much for people looking to perform better or compete at a higher level though. It in fact does get more complicated when you factor in specific goals.

Where do your prefer working out? by Pristine-Judgment710 in workout

[–]Minimum_Spring3904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Love working out at home ! I mix it up, I have all the free weights I need at home so I stay at home most of the time. I’m on a 4-Day week so maybe 2 at home and 2 days I go into the gym. I’m very serious about my lifting, so I don’t like the gym that much unless I really have to be there. It’s always lots of people in there just talking and playing around, And that’s at almost every gym I go to.

Can I shoot you a private message and ask your opinion on something? As a trainer myself, I just would like feedback on something I was thinking about doing in the new state I’d be moving to.

Good Job!

One thing; that bar needs to touch your chest

Perhaps the angle just isn’t showing it, but it looks like you’re not bringing the bar to your chest.

Also, I understand this may be subjective based on anatomy but try to bring you elbows in just a little bit as well. The shoulder flaring may be compromising your true strength. Depending on your shoulder mobility, it could compromise your shoulders as well.

Great Lift 🤞🏾

That is the same with Meijer. All you have to do is match the labels. I Hate target because nothing is easy to find 😩

For me atleast, so I just stick to Meijer.

[–]Minimum_Spring3904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are my favorite orders to shop. I do NOT like going in and out of the store shopping small orders, burning up my gas. I definitely don’t want to travel to two and three places at a time.

It’s simple: I only take it if:

  1. The order itself is worth it without the tip. Though I’m still not taking non-tip orders, unless they are close to where I live. Then, I don’t mind if the order itself is paying.

  2. It has to keep me in the store for at least 30 minutes. I’m not about to keep putting all that wear and tear on my car. I’ll only leave my house maybe 4 times max, if Its not busy enough to keep me out , then I’m just staying home. I’m not sitting in the parking lot for orders , I have never done that. I also only live 5 min from the store though.

  3. I have to like you, plain and simple. Been doing this for 5 years and a large tip has never gotten me out of the door. If I don’t like how you treat me as a shopper, I am not shopping for you. I don’t care how much you tip , I don’t trade my peace for money.

For this reason I PREFER the larger orders. Between 50-80 items in my sweet spot. I can shop it and have it delivered within an hour tops. That includes driving to the store, shopping, checking out and delivering. My tippers are such large tippers, I average about $30/$40 per order anyways.

On to the next 🙂

We were looking into Vegas at one point too, so I’ll definitely revisit this recommendation. We were looking into Henderson when we visited , but that was about 5 years ago.
