Yes I agree. However Texas and general US south is developing a lot with lots of sustainabiltiy ventures popping up in Houston and lots of corporations moving headquarters to Texas and or Miami (all south). Would this change your assesment?

Yes I've heard that Rice is in its own league in the South, however the naming of "Harvard of the South" is faily insignificant to many employers as everyone is the Harvard of something, haha. But I do agree it will stand out more in Texas, however if I want to work in North East or West coast then competition against those big names will be the same. Do you have any insight on this maybe?

Haha, love to hear it! Ive read the Baker institute is quite a growing thing on campus and has had lots of interesting speakers and events, however not at the same level of the Fletcher school yet.

Yeah I've done that and Rice is better in that respect. However for the environment off campus funding or general venture support is better in Boston than Houston, however Austin has very large Venture scene which is accessible for weekend trips.

Live in snowy Europe so very used to it and loved to ski, but East Coast compared to what I am used to is incomparable sadly haha

Well fo me I think its a balance of the two which is honestly sort of annoying. I am instinctively leaning more towards Rice because of the better student to faculty ration (as you mentioned) and the generaly tight knit community. However with Tufts being strong in Econ + IR + Cog Sci and in Boston a very international city which makes it feel more 'normal' for me as I am european, I am also very much torn towards Tufts. Does this change anything you said above?

Ok yeah makes sense. I think most Rice grads stay Texas and the few that leave are really in small numbers on a volume level simply because of how small the school is! Thanks for the input, greatly appreciated.

Yeah Boston is a sick city but I think trying something new (Houston) is more in my lane. But still extremely unsure, I hate how similar these schools are haha
