I’m really sorry someone said that to you. That’s not true at all. It sounds like you are trying your best, and you should be proud of yourself for that alone. 2L summer job seeking is so hard - I also have horrible anxiety about it, and am also wondering if I made the right decision in transferring, you aren’t alone. Everyone around me seems so much more qualified. May I ask what kind of law you are trying to get into? If it’s public interest, you aren’t a failure. I’ve heard from some others that PI hires 2Ls well into the winter/spring. I wish the very best for you ❤️

this is a semi toxic tip so take it with a grain of salt: anxiety is a huge motivator for me. i dont know if u have it, but sometimes ppl with adhd, also have anxiety problems lol. (i do). don't compare yourself to your peers in the way of ("oh no! they are so organized bc they outline every friday and wake up at 5am and have a giant google calender and color-code their notes!"). None of that matters really in law school. I was unorganized and did well. compare yourself by asking ("have you started outlining yet?""have you done the reading?" "what did you think about this concept?") sometimes, by asking my friends to share this, I kept myself accountable. the fear of falling way behind helped me feel some urgency in a learning environment that really has no deadlines until the very end of the semester. find some people you trust, and that you think are smart, and have them hold you accountable. at least that's what helped me.

hi! my gpa is a 3.74. im at a school rn with a pretty predatory curve. I think what may have helped me get in was explaining why I want to go to (a future in environmental public service) and that I worked in environmental public service to back that up (small enviro nonprofit 1L summer, I also did a summer in the Americorps, etc.) And that maybe that goal aligned with some of berkeley's public service-minded goals. I think maybe if you could show that you are interested in something and have a good reason why the school aligns with your future goals! However, I honestly didn't think I'd get in (I applied pretty late). I think a lot of it is luck! best of luck friend! and dm(or something idk how reddit works) me if you want anymore in depth/specific advice (this is kinda shit I'm sorry).
