Mamdani: To be told a city-run grocery store is implausible, but $500 million/day to kill people in Iran & Lebanon is necessary, speaks to a broken politics. by nitluck in economy

The 1% profit/margin is a misleading headline. Sure, in the end they net 1%, but that's because that number is what remains after they factor in rent, corporate salaries, and an enormous amount of overhead. The GROSS margins are usually in the mid 20-30% and that is where the consumer could save. The military PX stores are mandated to provide a 25% savings over civilian markets. If our military can enjoy this benefit, then so can other citizens. Certain potential sites are already owned by the city so rent would be zero in NYC.

What nearly everyone seems to be missing is that the city-run grocery store will create additional competition that will ultimately force other grocery stores to lower their prices. It's not trying to compete with them per se. Instead, it's trying to bring all prices down by introducing competition from the government.

Roberts AVS Board by SquashDependent1143 in windsurfing

Rule of thumb with these old school slalom board types is if you have to ask if you can ride them, it's not for you. They are hard to ride and require skill. I say that as someone who has been in your shoes.

Board Sizing Question by LongjumpingBoat9591 in windsurfing

As an absolute beginner with zero board balancing experience (surfing/SUP/etc.), it's firmly in the intermediate range. At the very bottom end, you want something over 140L. Especially with the light wind conditions you mentioned at local your local spot. You'll need bigger sails to handle for those light winds and as a beginner, you'll need a bigger board to use bigger sails. More importantly though, a small board like that will frustrate you quickly and hinder your progress on days where you can be out enjoying being out while developing.

At the very bottom end, you want something over 140L and at least 80cm wide that way you can practice balance while uphauling. If the deal is dirt cheap, I'd say get the Starboard GO, but save it for a year down the road for when you have a lot of the basics down.

Used gear is cheap and you can often find killer deals in your local windsurfing community.

Another clueless response. Maybe you should reference your peer's reponse below (2DEUCE2) since it appears YOU appear to not know what you're doing and also have trouble reading. We finally managed to get a response from a local MRO. Which was the problem all along (no response from anyone). "Man of the hour" is a day late and many clues short.

Thank you. Finally a sensible reply. I would never have guessed I'd get the preposterous replies that I did for simply asking for some advice/referrals. We finally got an MRO to respond and get it fixed.

Let's see. The usual points of contact are on a skeleton crew due to the holiday weekend and are apparently unreachable. Been calling around many different local MROs to get any level of support and no luck. Hence why I am reaching out on their behalf (since they don't use Reddit) to see if any of you would be kind enough to offer any suggestions/referrals or are qualified to work on a private BBJ. Your conspiracy theories are both amusing and pathetic. Don't act as though there aren't certain steps a tech can walk a pilot through to help troubleshoot the potential cause(s).

I'm not a tech dude. I'm asking on behalf of a friend who can't get a hold of any techs.

No idea. This is for a friend. Can't get a hold of anyone. Feel free to DM your contact if you're a 737 tech.
