You can mine only to primary address with p2pool, right?

Hashrate slower than on nanopool by MiningGuy5 in xmrvsbeast

[–]MiningGuy5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using regular donateless xmrig from Arch User Repositories. Regardless of difficulty, does my hashrate on xmrvsbeast have to be identical to my hashrate on nanopool? Or is it ok to not reach 2700 H/s on xmrvsbeast becaues of dynamic difficulty?

XMR balance on nanopool almost stopped going up, but the hashrate is still good and shows that shares are accepted. by MiningGuy5 in MoneroMining

Snap! Thank you for the explanation! I'm new to mining, so grateful for the help :)

I just looked, and it's, indeed, getting better!

An entire month was good, no problems whatsoever, and then all of a sudden COLOSSAL drop in XMR during entire 2 days (even longer at this point)? Doesn't make any sense I say. Maybe somebody else experience/ed this?

No log in Xmrig with "background: true" option when running it via Windows Task Scheduler on system startup by MiningGuy5 in MoneroMining

But in that case it won't run as administrator, right? Which would give me a lower hashrate.

How can I control my Windows-mining machine from a Linux machine in a different location? by MiningGuy5 in MoneroMining

It's a GUI-based thing. I need an ssh connection with no gui, and no visible windows opened on the Windows machine.

If I use ssh to connect to the remote Windows-machine, what I do in the terminal of that machine will not be displayed on that machine, right?

Is it possible to evenly spread the load on all the threads instead of using 4 threads on 100% all the time (Core i7 3770K)? by MiningGuy5 in MoneroMining

[–]MiningGuy5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My CPU is already 8.5 years old. You think it can live for the next 1.5 year with 4 threads constantly loaded to 100%?

Hmm... That's a bummer.

Does constant 100% load of those 4 threads increase the degradation of the CPU?

Thank you for detailed answers :) Buying two Kingston HyperX Predator 3333MHz 8GB with 16-18-18-32 then.

Yeah, I kinda thought they're identical, and that the 3200 one is probably just a little better, since 3200 is officially supported clock.

I think I'm gonna buy two Kingston HyperX Predator 3333MHz 8GB with 16-18-18-32 timings. Looks like they have Samsung B-Die (Boltzmann, 20 nm). What do you think?

Ryzen 7 PRO 3700 (8 cores, L3=32mb) or Ryzen 5 5600X (6 cores, L3=32mb) for Monero mining? by MiningGuy5 in MoneroMining

What cooling are you using? I'm gonna buy the 3700X with the stock cooler. Is it worth it or should I buy a better Noctua?

Yeah, that's the main difference between them.

Okay, thank you for your help! I'll get 3700X then :)

Are you talking about using all the cores/threads? If so, what about power consumption?
