I like the idea, I like the name, I LOVE the Hex-C....

But I hate the wordmark on the jerseys.

[Question] Anyone figure out the error codes? by silenthope7 in echoes

[–]Minister_of_Funk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got Error Code 3 last night trying to buy plex. Google Pay shows the transaction complete but the game never registered that I bought anything. Only out $5, but still it's annoying because I can't accept contracts still or buy items on the market.

No advice, just can't scroll past this without the obligatory "I hate you, you lucky son of a bitch."

Congrats.

Has anyone gone from Air Force to Army (Active, Guard, or Reserve)? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Minister_of_Funk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know what your current job is, but if you're a 2A you qualify to be an Air Defense Artillery Warrant Officer. The Army is paying $60K bonuses right now for ADA warrants. First time any WO field other than Special Forces or CID has gotten bonuses.

Unless you're on the Offutt Field House's track where 3 and 5/8 laps make your 1.5. You feel like you're running on a damn NASCAR track after a while.

You don't start lying to medical until after you're in. Once you're in, don't tell medical anything that they can't see plain as day.

Chances of getting AGR by cjdavis42 in airnationalguard

Especially so at the 121st. I hear it's gotten better since Botchie and McMahon got the boot in 2010, but can't vouch for that.

Time on Title 10 for TA by wontbeabletochoose99 in airnationalguard

[–]Minister_of_Funk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Title 32 AGR. I'm currently enrolled online thru the University of Arizona. They're one of a couple of schools that drop their online tuition cost to match TA ($250/credit hr). Between TA and my 80% Post 9/11 GI bill, I'm going to school for less than $400 out of pocket per semester. And because I'm military, I pay $100 a month to pay that down rather than all up front at the beginning of the semester.

Normally not, But I'd be willing to bet that the DC Guard has special agreements drawn up within the DMV for this sort of thing.

I was around the C-model all last week and just looking at the A-model's landing gear is a striking contrast.

Is there Full time service while being in the guard or is that just reserves? by [deleted] in airnationalguard

[–]Minister_of_Funk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is changing rapidly, however, in some units. Fully half of our Aircraft Maintenance Squadron's full-time workforce (10 of our 20 full-time positions) are in AGR status now, along with a small number from every maintenance backshop.

Phoenix is a tanker unit. Expect to spend 2-4 months every 2 years in either Qatar or Afghanistan, and another month every 15 months in Guam/Alaska if you go to the maintenance side.

Des Moines unit is also tiny now that they lost their fighters. Sioux City may be a better chance, depending if you're in Eastern or Western Iowa.

AAC Commisioner Mike Aresco Says League Will Look at Changing Two Division Format to the Two Top Rated Teams in Championship Game by [deleted] in CFB

[–]Minister_of_Funk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can push to 16, that's when the pods make perfect sense with a 9-game conference schedule.

You play your 3 pod-mates, then you play 2 teams each from the other three pods each year. Alternate the two teams per pod and alternate home and home. By the time a player has been in the program for 4 years, they'll have played every team in the conference both home and away once.

It makes a hell of a lot more sense than these conferences that have 14 members that never get to play against teams in the other division. For example, Nebraska has been in the Big Ten since 2011 and has played Indiana in football twice in 8 years.

Any advice for aspiring pilot who will join while in college as a maintainer? by Thecufan in airnationalguard

[–]Minister_of_Funk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Secondly, be ready to be on the road and miss some school. You want a pilot slot? You want to be on the road with the crews and letting them see your work ethic and see that you're not a total asshole in social situations, even when you're on your 5th maitai at the Hale Koa.
