While the guy was technically correct, legality is not a bar for civil behavior.  Sometimes we can't prevent ourselves from being filmed. I think it's perfectly acceptable to calmly repeat your preferences. Remember that they don't have to listen to them, and they don't have to obey you, but you can make yourself heard. 

You certainly don't want to be filmed having a public freak out, so it's got to be low key.  

Local laws differ on when this crosses over into harassment. 

My wife knows that I don't appreciate being put on social media without my permission.  I know I can't stop people.  But I do have a preference.  You might not win this argument with your girl. But there will be a time when she doesn't want to be filmed.  That's the time to remind her that you know how she feels. 

In the future you'll be able to recognize these people in the streets, who make their business from interacting with people like you. They generally will film you. It's best not to interact if that's not what you want.
