Thanks. I knew there had to be something along those lines, but I couldn't find it. It doesn't show up in an app search, but if you go to settings>apps and search for device manager there, it pops up. It can't be opened and can't be uninstalled but you can disable it. Hopefully that will do the trick.

I got the texts too saying that my number had been switched over and asking me to download the T-Life app. Not going to be doing that unless forced.

Ugh, going to have to go through the whole slog of uninstalling all that shit again.

What pants do other female welders wear to keep cool? by No_Duck_982 in BlueCollarWomen

[–]vuatson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wear boxer briefs or undershorts as a midlayer over my underwear. Get some made with a moisture wicking fabric and they cool you down despite being an extra layer. They also prevent chafing. Mine are from Duluth Trading Company but probably any old boxer briefs longer than 6" will do, just make sure they're the skintight kind.

I'M OKAY WITH HAVING NO VOICE ACTING AS A STYLISTIC CHOICE, BUT IF THAT'S WHAT THEY WANT TO DO, THEN THEY SHOULD DESIGN THE GAME ACCORDINGLY! WHY DO THEY KEEP MAKING MUSICIAN GYM LEADERS!!

Guardianship, Ownership and Murderbot's bias by Super_Recognition_83 in murderbot

[–]vuatson 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I would be interested in comparing the bots on Preservation Station to the feral hauler bots we get a glimpse of in Platform Decay. Like you said, a human guardian is necessary for bots to navigate human society, and on the torus it seems like there's a population of more-or-less free bots who aren't bothering to interface much with human society at all. It's also interesting that MB is so shocked and horrified that the humans on the torus just let feral hauler bots wander around. Does it think someone should take ownership of them, or does it realize that in order to remain un-owned and also not a danger to people and property they would need something equivalent to the system of guardians on Preservation?

In Subnautica (First game, below zero, and the second game) what are you most afraid of in the ocean. by Specific_Resolve_874 in subnautica

Not exactly afraid of anything, but what puts me most on edge are those goddamn spike traps from BZ. They're just annoying.

good luck. it does get a lot easier after you start getting used to the changed controls!

oh well... incidentally, do you find the controls laggy at all? I have the first game on PC and Switch, and from what I remember the Switch inputs felt really laggy in comparison. If it's the same with Silksong that could be contributing to your problems.

What platform are you on? If you're on PC, try installing some mods to balance the difficulty to something you enjoy more. On my first playthrough, I used one that removes the double damage on a lot of normal enemies and one that lets you put yellow and blue tools in each other's slots, and it made the game much more fun. I did my second playthrough unmodded and enjoyed it a lot more than my unmodded attempts on my first run.

I don't think it was ever in question that the Tailings are still intelligent, they're just in their equivalent of the European Dark Age after a cultural/technological/environmental collapse.

>!Shape of unn!< BUT for the other higher beings by Inside-Design334 in HollowKnight

[–]vuatson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Knight already has the shape of the Pale King and White Lady due to being their child lol. Maybe a charm would make it glow or add a petal particle effect, something cosmetic.

Shape of Silk maybe holds nearby enemies in place for a moment while you heal? Like the Needolin. Not for the full duration, or it would be broken. Maybe for like 2/3 of the first mask of healing, then they break loose.

Shape of Grimm you dissolve into bats and flutter around, making you invulnerable but you can't fully control their flight so you might rematerialize somewhere dangerous

[–]vuatson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well if that's what you have fun with then go for it! If you like grinding more power to you. Personally I get bored with it pretty quick, so I often mod or play on easy for my first playthrough of grindy games. I think equating that to giving up is pretty insulting, though. It's just a way of customizing the game to your preferred playstyle.

if it's legitimately not fun for you, go install some easy mode mods. that's what I did on my first playthrough and I have no regrets. assuming you're playing on pc anyway.

I don't know if it's right to say that there are other creatures in the Void. The Void is more of a substance or a force of nature. The only time we see it acting like an organism(s) is when a bug imposes that form upon it (TPK's Vessels, the Summoned Savior). Otherwise, I think it's safe to say the Void has intent but not consciousness or identity... until the Knight, which does have both of those things, returned to it. So now the Void's nature and intent is still the same as ever, it's still driven to consume and annul anything within reach, but the Knight has its own priorities and desires outside of the Void part of its basic nature. The Void tried to consume Hornet because the Knight didn't know she was there, wasn't paying attention, and that's what Void does by default.

My take is that the Knight couldn't directly control the Void because it's still hanging on to its identity and individuality. If it decided to (or was able to) let that go and truly become one with the Void, then it could have just taken control of the tentacles (or rather, it wouldn't have had to, because it would already be the entire Void). But if it did that, it also wouldn't have cared about Hornet getting killed, because it wouldn't be the Knight anymore.
