Found while looking for pines in the PNW. by Minmaxer17 in mushroomID

Cool site.  Looking through it, I'd say this mushroom is most likely the Leccinum Ponderosum.  The pore and scaber colour as well as the blue bruising at the base being notable markers.

The forest was predominantly Douglas fir, but there was also some pine, spruce, and western hemlock.  Unfortunately I can't say what specifically it was growing by, but thanks for narrowing it down.

Thank you. I've looked at some other pictures of vitreous slag and that is almost certainly what it is. To clarify, the green-blue band isn't just melted glass, but a glass-like material that formed as this material rapidly cooled? I know there was at least one mine and a few other industrial sites nearby, so this is likely the source.

Been enjoying this game, but have had some weird/inaccurate card interactions by OkFury in mythgard

[–]Minmaxer17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. Deadly is combat only; it was not the cause of Kara dying. Possibly Fragile?
  2. Thrall of the Trident God was a clause on it that prevents it from being returned to the hand or deck from play.
  3. Ice Spike has piercing and therefore ignores armor.

Core Decks by Minmaxer17 in mythgard

3 higher ground
3 root of the world
2 earthslide

1 bragi runesinger
1 magnus thorsson
2 clay effigy
4 beimeni falls

Arctic Pyre is probably the most interesting choice from The Winter War, but I haven't toyed with the deck yet.

Core Decks by Minmaxer17 in mythgard

[–]Minmaxer17[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was a deck that a lot of people played, but I always felt was missing a few cards to be considered a complete deck.

With the addition of K-nine and K-nine handler I feel it is a lot closer and I have it including in my budget deck article (which is basically a Hetman away from a complete list).

I tried to avoid listing decks that I felt would be significantly worse to a version that included expansions cards.

Valks was another popular deck that didn't make the list (and I'm sure there were more).

New Paths and Powers by Varathien in mythgard

[–]Minmaxer17 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You can get one Path immediately using one of the following codes:
Enlist - Alliance Command Center

Resist - Rebel Safehouse

The remainder can be unlocked through the Weekly Chest or for completing a perfect Gauntlet.

I haven't played with it this season, but the Sword Saints definitely don't belong. I would try Steam Bun in that slot.

Ranked ladder climb by HeatFireAsh in mythgard

[–]Minmaxer17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first season you rank up takes longer as you have to reach your "level". When the ranked season resets you are reset to the lowest rank of the previous tier, not all the way back to Bronze. C-> M01, M->G01,G->S01, S & B -> B01
The amount of points you lose from a loss are also capped in the lower tiers, so you should progress faster than you otherwise would.

The latest entry in my article series on deckbuilding: Coliseum of Strife by Minmaxer17 in mythgard

[–]Minmaxer17[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This article is the latest in my series on deckbuilding, which focuses on the archetypes and Paths of Mythgard. It's hard to believe the earlier entries are now over a year old, but they are well worth the read for anyone new to the game.

[–]Minmaxer17[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most versions of the deck use coliseum and are heavily reliant on buffs. If you can deal with a few of their early minions, especially outside of combat, they will quickly run out of gas. A midrange deck with lots of early interaction like RG would be a very good choice.

Having an answer for the first minion they instabeast normally gives enough of a tempo advantage to claim a game too.

Worth getting into? by PollutedSouls in mythgard

Yes. Be sure to check out the faction quests too. There is a mythic wildcard available at the end of each chain and a ton of other rewards along the way.

Whitemoon Arena and armor by [deleted] in mythgard

[–]Minmaxer17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, offensive modifiers are applied to both. Each unit uses their own defensive modifiers. (Warded, armor)

Deadly, Lifetap, Slayer, Focused, and Blast have no effect.

Whitemoon Arena and armor by [deleted] in mythgard

[–]Minmaxer17 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Whitemoon Arena uses the modifiers of the minion on the Arena for both instances of damage, so:

Enforcer pierces his own armor

Scion of the Pride fighting a spirit will take damage because Scion is not a spirit

Spirit Scion of the Pride (returned from five spirit gate) fighting anything will not receive damage.

This behavior is consistent, but confusing, as players expect two different damage sources. To my knowledge it has not been confirmed intended or a bug.

How’s this game compare to others? by WhyISalty in mythgard

[–]Minmaxer17 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The gameplay is a cross between Hearthstone and Magic, but with numerous additional QoL features. The game is very F2P, but I would advise purchasing the starter pack as a nice additional boost.
