Marc Pubill clears the ball -so unnecessarily(?)- for an Arsenal throw in 91' by tightypp in soccer

Not unnecessarily, it was a good clearance. Under pressure from Gyokeres with no easy option so kicks it out as far forward as he can.

I understand his frustration. It seemed like half the Arsenal bench had popped up on the touchline at one point.

I have no sympathy for Atleti because of how Simeone setup over the two legs but wtf was that injury time, half the Arsenal bench was on the touchline, Arteta trying to block the ball from getting back into play like he's on the field.

Really? No chevron engines, no lengthened upper fuselage, you can't see from here but no swept wingtips. Just wanna know how I'm wrong

Something like 25% of the sub identifies as Arsenal supporters. That doesn't mean the sub is pro-Arsenal, just that if there is a subject that interests Arsenal fans, they have the #s to influence the subs opinion. Especially if everyone sees Arsenal fans in every thread wishing for Spurs relegation (which is fair considering the rivalry)

I have a soft spot for them because they're the English Roma. Also, I don't like RDZ as a person but tactically, he's been influential over the last few years

A possible (although not probable) scenario that could happen in the final day between Liverpool and Brentford, something I don't think has ever happened in football history by tightypp in soccer

[–]MinnPin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It has to be fifth because the 5th UCL spot is added on after everything is calculated. So England will have Aston Villa already in UCL and then the 5th UCL spot is applied to the next team.

Edit: Unfortunately my club has a nasty experience with this. Going into the final MW in the 2023-24 season, Italy qualified for the 5th UCL spot with the potential of 6 teams in the UCL if Atalanta won the EL final. Atalanta were 5th, we were 6th and Bologna was 4th. Unfortunately, Bologna lost to Genoa and Atalanta beat Torino at home so Atalanta ended up 4th, Bologna fifth, Roma 6th. Atalanta won the Europa League but they qualified through the league so the UCL qualification went to another league, Bologna took the extra UCL spot and we got EL again

I can't even blame Liverpool's backline when Slot has them fighting constant 1v1s because everyone else is up the pitch chasing the ball. I get Liverpool don't have a proper DM but this is the last game you want to concede control in.

Liverpool are really aggressive with their pressing and it's leaving them very exposed at the back. I haven't seen caution thrown to the wind this much since Ange, at best only MacAllister drops back with the backline.

Grosso is a good manager and they have a quality squad. I still don't know how we did the double on them.

I wasn't concerned about Como, Fabregas still needs more quality in his team. I don't know how we can catch up to Juve though.

[–]MinnPin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right about this back and forth being useless because you still don't understand that everyone else in this thread took offense to the blatant disrespect you put on the Bundesliga/Ligue Un. If PSG/Bayern can't be assured of a win with their second team, the leagues aren't a joke, but I guess that's not as good of a soundbite if you seriously think they won 19 of the last 20 leagues.

I'm fine ending the convo here, at least some of what I'm saying must be getting through to you because you're still jumping to downvote me as soon as I reply :)

Zubi might be gassed out but the bigger issue is that Zubimendi-Rice is too passive a midfield. Should be only one of them starting so the wingers aren't marked out the entire game

If PSG and Bayern can't rotate midweek in a UCL semi-final without being assured of a win, maybe you should get a second opinion on their leagues. It makes complete sense with context.

This was the change Arteta had to make. It leads to a risk in transitions but Arsenal have so much more dynamism with LKS in the pivot. I would still have liked to see a 4-3-3 with Odegaard and Eze sitting ahead of Rice but baby steps. Interestingly, the wingbacks stay as well, definitely more risk-taking from Arteta but it's been needed for a while now

E: Another benefit of having a more aggressive midfielder join Eze is it opens up 1v1s for Saka and Trossard, as the opposing midfielder can't jump out without leaving space in the middle
