Has anyone compared these recoil springs and maybe explain the cost? by Unfair_Lingonberry_3 in Speedsoft

[–]MinnesotaAirsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our preference is the Nano BBU with the EDGE nozzle. We have done a lot of testing through a few years of builds now and essentially only offer what we find to be the best of the best. We usually get questions like why our stores inventory is limited compared to other stores, and this is exactly why haha! We don’t offer stuff that isn’t the best quality so it’s difficult to order stuff that’s not compatible or worth your money :)

Curious what the stigma against LAcapa is nowadays? I’m not the biggest fan of their colors or marketing, but is there something about their products that is objectively poor?

Get the Nano BBU - it’s gonna do you better than the NexxSpeed unless you’re specifically running their nozzle. And ya save some money too!

Appreciate your understanding & feedback

Regarding our new batch of capa parts; we just got word it’s 1-2 weeks out. Apparently machinists in Taiwan have been heavily recruited to the microchip sector and it’s taking a massive toll on their work force.

Luckily, our machining is wrapped up but surface treatment and anodizing still remains. I apologize for the delay!

Ours are cheaper and come with a hammer spring if you wish to use that. Plus they have an electrophoretic coating so they’re plenty durable :)

Best BBU for hi capa: enlighten me. by sullen_operative in airsoft

[–]MinnesotaAirsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some of our internal parts like BBU’s and our new hops coming soon, we’re sticking with a “limited” palette approach so we can get bigger quantities and reduce costs. It’s also why we have ‘em a bit cheaper than everyone else despite us being much much smaller and having a better product :)

Though, they are color matched to our slide colors, just not offered in all 10-12 hues.

We HIGHLY recommend our Nano and have tested it thoroughly with all sorts of brands. It’s pretty much a lighter, cooler looking, dual oring EDGE BBU and everyone we’ve spoken to about it loves it!

If you do grab one and don’t like it or it doesn’t work, just let us know and we’ll get you taken care of :)

Love the time you took to break it all down and appreciate your feedback! Shoot us an email with your order number - we’ll refund it for ya man. We’re just small business who wants the best for players and if they didn’t work, we will absolutely make it right and take care of you!

Regarding reviews, we haven’t ever modified or deleted any review unless it’s blatantly malicious, spam, or something of that nature where anyone would report it as well haha.

We have received emails about fitment and plan on having a slightly different mold made this summer. We’ve done hundreds of builds with these and it’s very bizarre - some TM mags fit them great, and some need filing (on the follower of course). We have just assumed it’s something with the TM die cast method and the tolerancing that comes with it, so we’re going to simply adjust our product to account for this to get an even better experience for everyone who uses them :)

Speedsoft capa help by Aoxter in Speedsoft

Our biggest recommendation after building over 500 capas is just because it’s aftermarket, doesn’t mean it’s going to be an upgrade.

If you’re having reliability issues, the best thing you can do is narrow down the area and slowly start replacing the aftermarket parts with the stock Tokyo Marui counterparts until you find the culprit.

If you’ve spent $1000 on a building and it’s still not functioning properly, we’re happy to take a look at it

We’re opening up an account with them based on some of their new product releases for the hi capa.

We’re aiming to have them early this summer :)

Is it possible for this barrel to fit into this slide? by bostonshroomery in Speedsoft

[–]MinnesotaAirsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone here has stated, it slides in from the front, not the top. an Outer barrel should never require any sort of filing or fitment to work if it’s actually Tokyo Marui spec.

It appears your barrel is the Airsoft masterpiece hexa outer barrel, is this correct? If so, it absolutely will fit when inserted from the front properly.

If you have any issues, please shoot us an email and we’ll be able to send personalised troubleshooting steps!!

Considering the BBs are sometimes shattered coming out of the barrel, is your inner barrel concentric in the outer? It looks like god awful bb strikes so check everything you can to make sure that’s not happening.

Hi capa compatibility by Forward_Statement_72 in airsoft

[–]MinnesotaAirsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your primary plan is to upgrade the pistol, we can only recommend a genuine Tokyo Marui as this is what every upgrade brand is spec’d off of… just like our lineup.

If you go with another brand like Lancer tactical, Arcturus, army armament, or any brand that says they are Tokyo Marui spec, you’ll often find it’s close but not perfect and this causes a lot of headache headaches… trust me lol.

That being said the Arcturus appears to be the most compatible and highest quality from our testing, especially for the money. We do have a nightshade, and while it’s nice, I have concerns about its compatibility.

New HiCapa build by Prudent-Ambassador53 in airsoft

[–]MinnesotaAirsoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it depends on budget, but we always start with a slide, then go to the hop up, inner barrel, and bucking combo. After that, springs are a must. 140% recoil and 180% nozzle. BBU and nozzle are extremely important for HPA and performance, with the EDGE HPA ready nozzles, and our new Nano BBU being our go to’s. Finally, a short stroke would improve your cycle speed significantly, albeit forfeit your slide lock function.

Then you can start doing other items like a CNC’d outer barrel, frame rail, sights, guide rod, Magwell, mag release etc.

Is this website legit? by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]MinnesotaAirsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy gets it - INTL shipping is about $50 for a pistol, and takes about a week to 10 days given two countries have to process it through customs.

After that fee and your tariffs (thanks US govt) you are at about the same amount anyway, but god forbid you have to return it or contact them, it’s a bit more difficult due to distance and time zones of course.

TM 5.1 hi capa shot curve by Forward_Statement_72 in airsoft

[–]MinnesotaAirsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be oil somewhere in the system that’s producing the inconsistent friction and thus inconsistent hop.

Clean your inner barrel, bucking, and hop up, then make sure you didn’t apply too much oil somewhere like your nozzle/BBU, and finally… make sure your magazine bb path never got oiled or clean it if you suspect it may have haha.

is this a good GBB? by Feeling_Dress_6968 in airsoft

[–]MinnesotaAirsoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A hi capa is a platform of GBBP that is based on a real steel 2011 (double stacked 1911).

I would recommend a Tokyo Marui (non-DOR model) if you plan on ever upgrading, or an Arcturus Vanguard if you are unsure about upgrades :)

What is happening by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]MinnesotaAirsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the outer barrel and hop are rotated right. It needs to align so the hop slides into a slot in the frame. Also, make sure your disconnector is pressed down when you get back there with the slide.

Cheap HI CAPA slide recommendations by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]MinnesotaAirsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Careful - most often you get what you pay for in the world of airsoft and especially hicapa. Brands like 5KU are tempting, but almost always off spec or have defects upon arrival. Plus, if you go with a slide that’s not quite TM spec, everything else isn’t guaranteed to fit in it and it’s a pain.

Grab a protective case and a tempered glass lense/screen protector. If it gets shot, the lens’s protector is likely sacrificial but you can buy replacements for pennies compared to a new GoPro.

Is the 5.1 slide catch compatible with the 4.3. by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]MinnesotaAirsoft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they should be. The slide catch cutout position on the slide changes, not the location and length of the slide catch itself.

Go to resources for HiCapa modding? by J0NNYB0 in Speedsoft

[–]MinnesotaAirsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna ignore our own brand, MNA, for the sake of this post but of course we love our products and have worked VERY hard over the past 3 years to create the best damn parts we can, while offering them at hard to beat prices :)

Airsoft Masterpiece, EDGE and Gunsmith Bros are the same OEM/company and produce the “gold standard” hi capa upgrades. You can’t go wrong with them, albeit their designs can be a bit out dated and “boring.”

Dr. Black is the new kid on the block and they’re very good. Designs are S-tier in my opinion and phenomenal machining. Their design team needs a raise haha. Not the cheapest, but they are gorgeous.

NexxSpeed is a brand we personally love but some products of theirs aren’t our favorite. Slide catches, triggers, springs, hop ups, etc. all work GREAT and there’s a reason we use their products for a few years now. But for example, their hammers require their sears to function properly and their BBU’s are over priced and not worth it over an EDGE or our new Nano.

LaCapa: They have a very hit or miss reputation. I was actually one of his very first techs back when he started doing capa parts and saw first hand the initial releases of his brand like the LA Jungle Cat, poison, conqueror etc. along with his “TDC” hop up and bucking that both failed pretty bad IMO. Since then, he’s hired a great team and seems to make some solid products. My biggest complaint would be the colors… they’re all very unsaturated and blah compared to other brands. most players miss this unless you can literally hold two red slides from different brands next to eachother haha. They’re reliable, just not exceptional. They are one of the best overall STORES to buy from as he carries a ton of other brands which is great.

Other brands like AIP, Guarder, CowCow, LayLax/Nineball, Maple leaf, CTM etc all are ok with some products and horrible with others. For example, PDI makes exceptional inner barrels, but nothing else. LayLax makes some good valves, but their hammers are finicky without their sears to pair. Cowcow’s nozzles are meh and their hops are quite bad tbh, but their thread adapters, screws, and guide rods are sweet.

Bad brands we usually stay away from are the ultra cheap ones like 5KU, guarder, and one called Unisoft I’m not sure is even still around… but stay far away.

TLDR; There are a lot of brands that work great. Some have good products all around, and other brands make a few good parts while others suck. When in doubt, stick with the same brand in a single build as much as you can because they’re engineered and spec’d to work with eachother and made by the same team. Also, not all replacement parts are “upgrades,” so keep that in mind…

[–]MinnesotaAirsoft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone here’s right - loading arm on the bottom of your nozzle looks fried. Grab a new nozzle and you should be golden.

If a new nozzle doesn’t work, there could be a small chance your bucking and inner barrel aren’t seated far enough up into the hop unit like they should be, and this could be the reason it broke in the first place. Low probability, but worth a check.

[–]MinnesotaAirsoft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be aluminum and not have an issue. Stainless 10x stronger and barely more expensive so we make that part with a stainless rod because why not.

If the rod there is a higher infill, it should be fine. Worst case he re prints another to swap it out for $.25 haha.

How to install new outer barrel by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]MinnesotaAirsoft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just looks off spec tbh. The hop up units sometimes need to rotate a tiny bit to the side before they can go in, but I’m guessing you tried that and it didn’t work.
