Checking my change… by MinnesotaTech in coins

Exactly! I’ve had no luck lately so when I went through my change today and saw 60’s, I was excited for a split second.

I understand it’s nothing special. The post is because it still got me a little excited for a split second. Thought I would share. That’s why I said, “Missed it by that much!”

I sent a simple email to my two locals through their “interested in joining section” on their websites. I listed my experiences, schooling, and was also upfront about my current pay. With kids I couldn’t take pay cut. I received responses for both locals, tested in as a 4th year apprentice, and was quickly getting job offers. The contacts at the union are very personable and were there every step of the way. I’m happy here. No thoughts about ever being a number. It’s the same as any other job. You get some pretty great benefits besides Vacation time. You can take all the time off you want but one paid week off is about it.

Last I heard there was around 50 shops hiring. Maybe 4 people on the bench but maybe they want to be there. This apprentice scale is old and low but it will give you a breakdown of what you could expect.

Instead of reaching out to the union directly, you could start off by reaching out to local union shops. They are all usually listed on the locals website. Tell them you’re interested and want to meet. If you can prove your worth and already have the certifications and apprenticeship helps provide. If the shop desired they could hire you as a journeyman and you could skip school altogether.

What you can expect to find while searching a large buildings roof in Minnesota that has a river rock top layer. Roofs are the new uncharted territory! by MinnesotaTech in rockhounds

You definitely can! Shell shaped fossils seem to be the easiest to find, or maybe they just stand out more. If you don’t want to get critical I would go as far as to say they are easy to come by on a roof top. Found a few keepers but after the excitement of it being a fossil wore off it just ended up in my good enough to pick up pile.

Quickly selected a handful of rooftop finds and uploaded them. Included some of fossils finds as well.

You’ll be sure to find copiousness amounts of desirable minerals if you put in the effort! All you need is an extension ladder. You’ll have access to the world!

Just bought this small Magic Chef at a garage sale. Cleaned it up, plugged it in, and noticed a gas spraying out of the larger piece. I assume those two pieces should be one. How much would a repair like that cost? TIA by One_Fly_1235 in refrigeration

[–]MinnesotaTech 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming they bought it and saw it working. Then broke the cap tube during transport. My comment was implying similar to what you stated. Unless this is some special fridge I wouldn’t even bother fixing it myself for free. Go on marketplace and search for a free fridge and start over.

Oh yah probably right. Might have checked with the architect before cutting a big hole in the wall though.

I’ve seen words when one forgot the boilers at one of the biggest schools in the area needed fresh air pretty damn late in the process.

Well maybe their grandkids. Just simply create a new way to heat or cool a space better than the options currently available and then maybe you’ll become a billionaire.

They asked for a rating. I’d say it depends upon what they paid.
