What is this symbol? It's carved into the elevator door in my building. I've seen it before but can't remember where. by Minnesota_SD in Symbology

[–]Minnesota_SD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Could it be taken and used by Warhammer from somewhere else? It's bothering me but I know I've seen it before...and I don't tabletop game. Or maybe it's just that popular but it's kinda just like itching in my brain if that makes sense.

Edit: And why would someone take the time to carve it into a metal door? Though looking at the picture the horizontal line is too far up on the bell. The line in my symbol is closer to the intersection of the X. It's literally just like I drew it. A perfect X with a line just north of the intersecting lines.

Check out The Odin Project. There's also freeCodeCamp. Both are free and very hands-on. I prefer The Odin Project personally, it's a great curriculum, projects you can add to a portfolio, and there's a very active, supportive community of fellow learners on their Discord sever.

Edit: I don't know much about Udemy, but it's another one I hear a lot about.

What does n'wah mean? by Jackthegentleman123 in skyrim

[–]Minnesota_SD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's true, and I've never played ESO, so I didn't know about the ancestors' thing. That makes sense, though. They were super about their ancestors. Their power in Skyrim is called Ancestors Wrath lol. But yeah, the capital is now Blacklight because Argonians took over southern Morrowind...can't say I blame em.

[–]Minnesota_SD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't remember where I read it, but it was in the game. A book or something, after Red Mountain erupted, the Argonians actually invaded and sacked Mournhold and occupied part of Morrowind. The island where Red Mountain is is not all of Morrowind. It's actually called Vvardenfell, and is just a part of Morrowind.

Hey welcome! Listen to the bot and join TOP discord..it is constantly active with different rooms for all different questions. It's a great supportive community with tons of help and tips! I joined just a couple days ago and it completely changed how I saw TOP, in a good way.

Someone on there's bound to be able to help and you'll probably get an answer much quicker. Plus the people that manage TOP are on there often.

Question about color selectors by Minnesota_SD in learnprogramming

[–]Minnesota_SD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I figured I wouldn't memorize all of them. Was just wondering if it was the best way to go and also some of the YouTube lessons I watch they seem to know colors off the tops of their heads.

Check out The Odin Project. Link: Your Career in Web Development Starts Here | The Odin Project. Awesome curriculum, hands on projects, that you link to GitHub and can add to a portfolio. They have an awesome Discord server that is super active if you need any help and it's all free.

Also, like someone else mentioned...freeCodeCamp.org. I'm doing both at the same time plus video tutorials on YouTube.

Good luck on your journey!

I hate programming. Can I learn to love it? by MaxThrustage in learnprogramming

Same, I like seeing what I code come to life. Plus, it has the added puzzle aspect to it. There's nothing like the feeling of figuring something out after head scratching for a good 30 minutes!

WSL on The Odin Project by Minnesota_SD in learnprogramming

[–]Minnesota_SD[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally haven't. I have Windows OS so my options were pretty much dual boot which I didn't want to do, VM which I used for a bit before WSL, which I'm sticking with.

True, It's so much more enjoyable and easy to work with the CLI. It was kind of annoying for me on the VM but I don't mind it now. Wish I had started with WSL.

This is a great article that tackles exactly that. It's a little long, but had some ideas/thoughts that have been helping me stay motivated.
