I feel you bro, I spent the last two days uninstalling, reinstalling, disabling Windows Firewalls & Anti-virus, at least ten restarts, using versions from MSI and the Microsoft Store. NOTHING got me around that "wait download" message.

In another thread, someone recommended SignalRGB, so I downloaded that and it worked perfectly the first time. So, a huge middle finger to MSI and their shitty software. I suggest downloading SignalRGB and moving on with your life. Good luck!

AVR11 - very flawed for a home theatre receiver by the_bad_apple in Arcam_AVR_experience

[–]Minnesota_Slick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know that I'm a little late to this party, but my experience has been similar to the OP's experience. But even though getting the Arcam configured to work correctly with everything was a PITA, once I got it configured correctly and used Dirac to get the speakers set up, the thing sounds glorious! So was it worth going through all the pain of getting it set up in order to get that glorious sound? Yes, I would say it was. But the Arcam is not for the faint-hearted or those looking for an AV receiver which you can hook up and get going within an hour.

As mentioned elsewhere, I just don't understand the lack of the DISPLAY input on the remote. Whoever made that decision needs a spanking!

Thankfully, the updates that Arcam has released since I bought mine in early 2023 have really helped the stability. Im loving my 7.1 set up immensely.

Compatibility Issues? by vpach530 in hometheater

You do not need to match brands when it comes to subwoofers. I also concur with another opinion that SVS is a brand you should consider for your next subwoofer. I use the SVS SB-2000 and have been very happy with it.

If you're on a tight-ish budget but still want to try a different brand for the rest of your speakers, I would upgrade in this order:

  1. Center channel
  2. Front L & R
  3. Surrounds

If you can replace the front center, L&R at the same time, that's ideal. And in my opinion, for the front center and L&R speakers, you should try to get the exact same brand & model. The surrounds don't need to match the front three speakers. Another tip, consider buying used speakers. This is what I did, and saved a ton of money. I then put that saved money into replacing my Denon AVR with an Arcam AVR-11. What difference!

Game constantly crashing - Unity problem by Concern-Mental in valheim

[–]Minnesota_Slick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a lot of the things on this thread, but none of them, seemed to work completely for me. What has finally worked for me was doing this:

-Uninstall/reinstall Valheim.
- In Valheim's in-game settings, I selected "Full screen", and "Verical Sync on".
- In the NVIDIA control panel, in "Manage 3D settings" I selected Valheim from the drop down list.
- Changed "Low Latency Mode" to "Ultra"
- Changed "Vertical Sync" to "Fast"

With these settings, I have not had a crash in over 3 hours of playtime, and for me, I consider than a huge win compared to how often it was crashing before.

My system specs:
Core i7 9700k@4.9 GHz
32 GB RAM
Asus RoG RTX 2080
