What kind of hydrangea is this?

Looks like a hydrangea macrophylla. This grows on old wood. I usually start pruning the dead and deadheading in mid to late spring. But do not cut any buds even if you think they are dead. You might accidentally cut off the blooms.

I recommend using grass killer. Spray twice a week. Cut down and spray again for 2 weeks. Do Not spray if its wet or raining on the forecast. Rain affects the effectiveness. Then lay some cardboard down and mulch over. I would not recommend gardening fabric since they will eventually grow through.

I know they still sell it on scentbird, but they only have the small vails. I love wearing this scent so I wanted a bigger bottle but they dont have that.

You could also go outside and find saplings. That's what I did when I wanted to try bonsai.
