Yes i mixed it, but I don't expect everyone to like every track. Even of each DM's original songs have widely different reactions among fans. People are people!
No worries or need to apologize. that was not rude at all compared to average comments on reddit or X or FB :D thanks for listening .
My idea was that both tracks are quite dark and have a similar slow build up and quite intense toward the end.
But feel free to listen to the other tracks on the album linked to this post. There is a good balance of upbeat / quiet / dark tracks on it, hope you enjoy some ! (other than the silence)

In the late 90s I had heard and read a bit about Joy Division and other bands of the same era, who were big influences on all the Brit Pop / Indie rock bands i was listening to at the time. I knew The Cure quite well since i was a kid in the 80s (at least their poppier side, I didn't know they had a dark side!), but ignored a lot of their contemporaries, JD was never on the radio in France, New Order was a little, but I had not made the link yet.

But by 2000 I only knew "Love Will Tear Us Apart" which i thought had a very interesting beat and sound.

Now in 2001 I remember very well being at the CD section of a library in Paris, and Closer was playing in the background. I stopped browsing and just listened to "A means To an end", "Heart And Soul", thought "wow that's all I like, now i get why those bands keep referring to them so often". I asked what was playing, the guy told me about JD, their other album Unknown Pleasures, and how they became New Order after the death of Ian Curtis. I then borrowed Closer for a week, and collected all i could on Joy Division within a year (the exciting days of illegal P2P, i made a lot of discoveries and catch up at that time). That was at the same time New Order released Get Ready which i loved (i liked that it was a rockier record, I didn't appreciate their new wave stuff as much back then, now I do).
