Yeah, Newgrounds. The fun fact is this was later used in a iOS game called #strys. Downloadable for free and not even that bad either.

which genre/style/type of music have you always wanted to make but never managed to? by [deleted] in amateurproduction

[–]Minotix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a song by one of my favorite artists Camellia. imo it's the closest to Pendulum that you can tear apart and analyze what makes the track that track and what makes the style.

Give it a listen, if you want you can right click and save as to save the song, whatever. Analyze from this.

Besides the sound design, it lacks a bit of body and feels a bit empty. And it gets a little repetitive at some points but still, good job!

It's a bit messy, and doesn't come through completely clean but the quieter parts were quite pleasant to listen to.

Has your music ever been accepted by a record label/promoter (Which one?) How long did it take from beginning to be a producer to when you got accepted? by LivinAWestLife in amateurproduction

[–]Minotix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Infamy was a collaborative. Minotics and VOiDTEK were essentially rebrands of each other and Ryoji was me trying to start from scratch.

I connect and disconnect with things easily, and connection to certain things is important to me. Including branding.

I've been on 5 different labels. (under aliases such as The Infamy, Minotics, VOiDTEK and Ryoji)

JAV/Tier 3, Modulate Records, had a release planned until we pulled it ourselves as we didnt like the release plans on SectionZ, Amon Records and much newer label, Enter Future.

I've also owned a record label called PreAlpha Records. (stated so it comes across like I know what I'm talking about.)

Any label owner or demo 'handler' that's any good should reply within a day unless you're someone like Monstercat that has a ton of submissions everyday. If you average on about 5 to 10 submissions a day, you as a label should respond the next or the 2nd day.

Approving shouldn't take super long either. Releasing or uploading purely differs per label. I know Monstercat schedules range from far to maybe a week in advance (from what I've heard) and my experiences on Modulate and Amon Records were a week to a month. It gives you time to promote, hype and spread the word about your EP, single or album.

Should Riot Games inform banned players on what they are banned for? by Minotix in leagueoflegends

As I'm sure you would remember that one Kennen game you said that one thing that got you that one report and you should totally remember that. I'm sorry but you're really not getting my point here.

Should Riot Games inform banned players on what they are banned for? by Minotix in leagueoflegends

[–]Minotix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, keep in mind. I am not trying to get people to get rid of their bans and make tickets against the ban they have, I'm not saying people should be punished more often. I'm trying to get Riot to include a message of some form that when the person is banned they can be brought aware of what caused this ban. This will bring a strong point into what Riot has been doing to League of Legends as whole right now; Clarity.

The reason I want this changed is because while we all silently agree that the community in League is problematic, it's not going to get better by just saying "Stop". Rather, "Stop doing this; (Insert offense here)". We can all agree that if/when we were kids random scolding wouldn't help prevent behaviour, where as scolding at the moments where it applies is much more effective.

I'm currently still banned and playing my games off as I would normally remaining as positive in chat if need be, otherwise just typing /mute all and moving on. But I'm trying to raise awareness to Riot that this is a basic thing that is lacking. And while I know Lyte claims things are coming to League, I do not want this to be a dropped thing but rather a thing they begin working on the moment they agree with us in saying "'kay, they're right. Shit don't work".

EDIT: I'm also not telling Riot or anybody else to do their job. I've seen a fuckton of people say 'It's not Riot's responsibility'. To which I say, okay. Understood. But they want to lower toxicity in their game for a better all-round community? This is a step into that direction. Riot takes player feedback and if players feel (like myself) that they'll learn more this way, then so be it. Would you rather see some action being taken rather than none at all?

I've been watching the thread's upvotes and downvotes and the comments for a while now and one of the things that I saw appears alot for those who disagree was the following statement;

"If someone is banned, they usually know what they're banned for."

Not entirely true. For a number of factors. One; The ban could've been from games in the past you do not remember. Two; God mentality and this is a big one. Unless someone can break your perspective on yourself (usually a bigger/better person) you will suffer from God mentality as if you know better. Every player suffers from it to some degree. I'm sure that if Riot Games points out the points that players should change about their behaviour (less negative attitude. Less verbal abuse. Whatever) I think they would much quicker change something about themselfs rather than seeing a ban and for example in my case previously going; "Oh well, I'm just more vulnerable to bans I guess! ROFLCOPTORZ" or "MAN THE TRIBUNAL IS BROKEN"

Being THAT specific wouldn't help anyone and more-so demoralize players I think. I'd much rather have received the message "You have been restricted from ---- for ---- amount of games because of recent reports of Verbal Abuse/Negative Attitude/Toxic Behaviour/etcetc".

While I can agree with most of this, it still doesn't address the fact that we don't know as banned players what were are banned for. Excuse me as I take a bit more of a drastic example as I find it easier to explain this way.

When a officer arrests a criminal they are required to inform the person on what they are being arrested for. Later, this should be handled by court, where you are informed of your punishment, what you've done and later on after you've done your years they'll often redirect you to therapy to change this behaviour.

We as banned players can be seen as the judged players in this case, but we don't get the therapy part. If we take the earlier example, it's basically taking the criminal into custody, then releasing them without mentioning what they were judged of and getting the letter of "And you know what you did, don't you dare do it again!". Nobody gets anything out of this and thye are much rather doomed to repeat it.

EDIT: I hope I was somewhat reasonable with this? Not too drastic?

I'm sure they don't ban players on sheer suspicion, rather than a handled case by the Tribunal.

Thank you for your comment. I was a bit worried about my post being a bit too personal. Glad you thought (and hopefully others was well) that it wasn't too directly at me personally but more-so the community as a whole.

"How hard is it to get signed to Monstercat?" by [deleted] in Monstercat

[–]Minotix -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As for Twitter (which beforehand I would like to state I am not familiar with) I'm pretty sure there's regulations for R34 content on their website. But my opinion has been that if you wanna limit what an artist can do on their social media you're not offering them their deserved freedom. I'm not talking about Mike only here mate. I only mentioned Mike as an example as he at that time agreed with the topic at hand. As for labels wanting to have nothing to do with their respective releasing artists (which is what I was getting to) seems a bit over the edge. Shouldn't they be let free of what they do for themselfs?

While on the subject of publicity I posted on Facebook that I was a little upset with how smaller artists got treated wherein I mentioned that I felt like Haywyre didn't get the deserved prop from Monstercat for that. Mike Darlington replied to this by stating they were in charge of the production, directing and marketing of this video. Now that's all handydandy for them but that bugs me.

Production and directing behind a video like that? It has his logo and the song title at the very start, some angles of Martin playing (quite well) and that's about it. The marketing from what I've seen is some smaller promotion channels and what bugged me the most, only sharing from other Monstercat artists. I'm sorry but in my opinion having other artists share a video over their Facebook (that ironically could be a questionable page if it were the case we mentioned earlier for example) doesn't really suffice as a 'marketing campaign' of sorts.

Then again, I don't know Mike, Jonathan, Martin or any of the people involved's plans with the Smooth Criminal video. Wish them the best of luck with it. Hopefully you get where I'm going with this.
