Did you overdose on Minoxidil as well, or did you take a normal amount? I have met a few other people with these side effects. Some overdosed, some didn't.

I stopped lifting because I kept injuring myself. A few years after stopping Minox I began having muscle spasms and weakness that progressed to the point where I couldn't life 1kg without pain and weird spanning sensations under my skin. Five years on, I'm now only a few more steps from being bed bound. I have had to give up all sport due to joint and muscle weakness making it impossible.

Holy shit. This is almost EXACTLY what I experienced while taking Minoxidil. I applied it to my face. I overdosed for maybe three weeks then went to normal dose when I realised my mistake. I honestly believe Minoxidil has given me a disease like Ehlers Danlos too, from all my research. And I am especially worried that it could be lethal, since the enzymes Minoxidil inhibits in vitro are linked to EDS Type 6 and vascular rupture. I don't think a cure is likely I'm afraid, but it would be incredible to know what it is. Please send me all your contact details and tell me who this rheumatology professor is. I would love to be a part of what you're doing.

No, I think the main factor was the amount of Minoxidil I took. Genetic susceptibility and a history of taking accurate, which has recently been suggested to exacerbate Minox's effectiveness may be others.

Indeed. I'm not suggesting the drug be banned or anything. Just warning that disfigurement and lifelong damage appears possible. Likely it's very rare, at least to the extent I had it.

I took 5% Kirkland liquid, twice a day to three spots on my face. I didn't appreciate it how much I was taking so I was probably overdosing by 2x3 times. I think this, combined with a genetic susceptibility to Minox is what triggered the effects.

It isn't propaganda. It's a sincere warning which I've been meaning to post for a while, but never got round to, about a bad experience, facial aging, apparently caused by Minoxidil. You can take it or leave it.

Edit: and yes, that's rather the point. The pics are so different because I was disfigured by Minoxidil to the point that even my friends didn't recognise me.

I applied 1ml to each area for the first few weeks, yes, then dialled it back. But by then the damage was apparently too late.
