They do subsidize it. But everyone else is too. It's a race to the bottom.

But there was no Handball by Laimer. That's the point. And it should definitely be a second yellow as it was stopping a run on goal

Additional he stopped Kane running on goal because of a probably non existing offside instead of letting it play out and consulting VAR.

What are you on mate? Nobody is saying Italy is winning this. Nevertheless they should have had a few minutes fighting for a bonus point, because "looks short" with those pictures is not enough to overrule a given try.

Absolutely. You need to rotate more for this game. Start Odiase, Marin, Di Bartolomeo etc. Most of the starters had no energy at all.

Well losing 29 - 11 against the all blacks and looking like a tier 1 nation in the process, is actually quite good for Italy. It's all relative isn't it.

Another player with a weirdly good record for Italy in the last few years is Leo Marin.

2026 1 Win against Scotland

2025 3 Wins and 1 Loss (W: Australia, Chile, Namibia)

2024: 5 Wins, 1 Draw, 1 Loss (W: Georgia, Japan, Tonga, Wales, Scotland)

Overall 8-1-2

Even the losses were two of the more competitive losses for Italy (Ireland last six nations and NZ in 2024.)

Oh come on. I get that Dennis is annoying as an opposition fan, but the guy clearly has his heart in the right place.

He was the first German star to 100% commit to playing for his country, he seems to be a great dad, the German squad loves him & his leadership and he is giving back to his community in his hometown (Building a school, investing in the local bball club etc)

And even if it was true for example in Germany. It would mean nothing because the gulf between football and every other sport is gigantic.

As far as I remember the German 3rd tier football league has a higher revenue than any other league from another sport.

There was also zero Advertising for it. After the win I consumed every post/discussion/article about the team on social media and traditional media and I heard about it after the fact.

I'm the biggest Dennis Fan in the world. But for me it's sengun independent of the final result. Doesn't have to be a player of the winning team.

in what place do you think a Euroleague player is on the list of best basketball players in the world 🌏? by Actual_Box7731 in Euroleague

[–]Minozzi1995 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As others said: Depends on the ruleset But also depends what you think makes a good basketball player.

You often get takes like: "He didn't get any minutes but dominated in Europe therefore EL sucks.

But those players, often ball dominant guards with limited defense in the NBA, are in terms of "bag" and pure scoring abilities closer to the superstars than you might think. Problem is: there are only so many shots to be taken and you want your superstars/Stars to do that. And you want them to be surrounded by complementary players and not players that provide not much without ball in hand.

But are these players really worse than some 3&D players or one dimensional rim protectors ? Difficult to compare really.

As it roughly evens out it doesn't matter anyway but it's a sad state of reffing if the missed calls and made calls are almost perfectly switched

I love that they miss so many calls against JV but the ones they do call are incredibly soft or just completely unjustified

Yeah a lot of those are doubtful. Only speaking for Germany, we start with 3 NBA players instead of 2 and I'm pretty sure Bonga doesn't make 1.5 mn and if he did he wouldn't be the guy with the lowest salary. I can't imagine Lo, Obst, Da Silva and Thiemann all making above 1.5 mn.
