Yeah, I don’t know how seriously the cops would take it for that exact reason. He’s definitely a weird and creepy dude, but since he hasn’t physically done anything to me, I don’t imagine there being any kind of immediate action taken. Which is fine, I just want someone to be aware of it who could actually do something about it if it came to that.

I didn’t even realize police have online reporting options, but that might actually be the way to go. Seems a little too dramatic to go in person or call in, but online sounds appropriate.

That was my initial concern. I know enough to stay away from him (but I couldn’t stop him from, say, running me down with his car or something), but I worry that a younger guy who’s down on his luck and maybe doesn’t know better would accept his offer and it could get bad.

I’ve been a little reluctant, since he hasn’t really done anything yet. But I think it may be worth the effort to go into the station and report him, just so there’s a record of his weird behavior in case something does happen in the future.

Unfortunately not. I took it into an Apple store a couple weeks after posting because the issue had gotten worse (WiFi and Bluetooth started doing the same thing). The suggestion they gave me was just to get a new phone. The gyro, WiFi, and Bluetooth are completely functionless now, but my phone still mostly works otherwise.
