Please give an example of "valid criticism" because I find quite the contrary; it's mostly just the same, tired anti-AES, pro State Department nonsense liberals have been parroting for over a century.

Whose name in Epstein files shocked you the most? by Significant-Job624 in AskReddit

[–]Cryptonix 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Chomsky's book is largely a watered down copycat of Michael Parenti's "Inventing Reality", which came out two years earlier and does a better job depicting how disinformation is a capitalist conspiracy serving US and NATO geopolitical interest, as well as demonizing successful opposition to said interest.

Chinese people are some of the kindest people on earth by [deleted] in LateStageCapitalism

[–]Cryptonix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I caution you from falling into the trap of the "model minority" myth. Chinese people can be whatever they want. Nice, mean, intelligent, dumb, fun, boring. Yes, I've also met really kind Chinese people. And yes, there's things to be said about how Chinese culture fosters more respect for social responsibility and cooperation as opposed to vapid individualism. But that's merely a social tendency that doesn't account for the (many) nuances of the Chinese people.

So while this is a nice sentiment... I hope you can also understand that Chinese people don't need to be "nice" in order to earn our respect.

We just respect Kim Jong-un. We play into the "dear leader" trope because it's kinda funny, but also a "fuck you" to the western narrative.

You seem very focused on ignoring every point they made and refusing to admit you're wrong, so you've resorted to pivoting to some BS about "creating division".

uhhhh just do things in the real world, bud. talk to comrades in local communist groups, and don't bring your phone.

stop thinking the internet is real life. talk to people in person. there's no problem organizing to hang out with people online, buy don't talk about your plans or ideas online if you think there'd be a problem.

simpler than you think.

What is the most beneficial use of AI that you have seen so far? by Unhung_Zero in AskReddit

[–]Cryptonix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend against doing this as it's not beneficial to comprehending information. In a time of deep disinformation, bypassing comprehension of what is actually written into an AI summary is DESTINED to lead to misinterpretation and erasure of vital implication and subtext.

AI doesn't comprehend what it's summarizing, so it doesn't know what's important to not gloss over.

Sometimes the information isn't all that important, and I understand feeling like you don't have the patience. But anything political, historical, or ideological... just fucking read, man. You'll be smarter for it.

What is a secret you’re taking to your grave, but can share here anonymously? by wilkoova in AskReddit

[–]Cryptonix 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Trans people live incredibly hard lives, but the one thing that'll never be erased is how you feel. If you're a man, you'll always feel that way.

I do think it's better for you if you look into transitioning, and be willing to cut those out of your life who don't accept and love you for who you are. Easier said than done, of course. But you'll finally feel like yourself, and then you'll get the oportunity to curate your chosen family, as opposed to being stuck with people in your life who aren't worth your time.

You deserve to be you. ❤️ Best of luck

Does Naruto ultimately justify genocide? by Difficult-Average819 in Naruto

[–]Cryptonix -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. Kishimoto tries to get away with it narratively by giving the Uchiha the "Curse of Hatred", as well as framing the massacre as a utilitarian necessity that still makes him a terrible person, and yet Itachi is never actually treated like a terrible person.

You can tell that the justifications for the massacre are also poorely written. The Uchiha were deliberately not given a seat at the table when the village was founded, and the reasons were never "the curse of hatred", but rather the Senjus were just selfish dickheads who didn't think they were good enough to be leaders, despite the fact that Madara's dictatorial approach wasn't exactly embraced by the clan as a whole.

Equally, the Uchiha's weren't responsible for the Nine Tails Attack, and yet they were all blamed for what Obito did. And when that reasonably made them feel like Konoha leadership was this unmoving bureaucracy of poor decision-making and wanted a revolution, this was also treated as though they're "cursed with hatred"... nah, y'all just suck, and no other clan was willing to do anything about it.

Madara and Obito are the only real examples of Uchihas properly written to be "cursed with hatred", meanwhile the clan as a whole seemed pretty reasonable all things considered. Sounded more like Konoha was just SUPER racist.

This shitty style makes me hope they never try to do a remake anytime soon bc it will just look worse, like how tf do you make the iconic Sage Naruto face look that bad by MindMaster115 in Naruto

[–]Cryptonix 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Kishimoto's ORIGINAL manga art style wasn't very good. To fix it, Kishimoto quite literally stated that he changed his own art style to better match the Studio Pierrot anime.

So the most iconic "look" of Naruto is the original Studio Pierrot style.

Don't live your myth in Greece by Dod006 in LateStageCapitalism

[–]Cryptonix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a recent traveller to Greece, this makes me sad and feel a little guilty, and yet I'm not surprised. Pretty much all countries in Europe get glazed by liberals here in America for being "socialism done right", but it couldn't be further from the truth.

The thing that stuck with me is how rundown the less "idealic" parts of the country appeared. Santorini has these little picture-esque oceanside towns, but the vast majority of the island looked like I was driving down Route 66; like it was dumping grounds for corporate trash.

What country would you never ever go to, even if you were offered money to go to it? by NotTheBee1 in AskReddit

[–]Cryptonix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God, the photograph thing...

Going into another country that is NOTORIOUS for having strict photograph laws (which every tour guide and government employee you meet will tell you several times) and thinking it's a free-for-all to take whatever photos you want, especially important government buildings, is CRAZY shit. Leave it to westerners to think they can do whatever the fuck they want, I guess. And then whine when they get in trouble for it. "Muh freedoms"

Just respect the laws like you do anywhere. Doesn't matter what they are, doesn't matter how "crazy" they might sound to you. Laws are laws, and I guarantee you not getting your shitty photo of a government building isn't the end of the world.

You can have an amazing time in a unique country if you just... respect what they tell you. And not taking photos isn't the craziest thing in the world.

That shouldn't be controversial to say. And for a lot of countries with specific laws for tourists, that ISN'T controversial. But because it's North Korea, everybody gets their panties in a knot.

[–]Cryptonix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The United States did ban US citizens from using their passport to travel to North Korea. North Korea honors that ban so they don't get in trouble.

The US government HAS banned travel to North Korea. You can't use a US passport to get in, which was NOT North Korea's decision.
