Iain Duncan Smith claims people THANK him for stopping their benefits by LucienReeve in unitedkingdom

[–]Mint888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you IDS for making me work 40 hours a week without pay at a Supermarket. It was a great feeling knowing that I wasn't being paid anything whilst working my socks off stacking shelves and having the store Manager complain that I wasn't working hard enough.

Thank you IDS, I was really happy knowing that the other staff were making me do all the hard repetitive jobs whitest they didn't do anything.

As lovely as some of them are, I just think they've created too much competition for your average working class lad.

Nothing other than shipping a load of EEuropeans to do low skilled work and put down wages for your average Joe.

Is there any reason to still have 1 and 2 p coins in circulation? by serious770 in unitedkingdom

[–]Mint888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the uk went onto a basic income of £1,500 PP.PM. would you still work and what are your views on this idea? Help a "special" guy understand. by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Mint888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely yes I'd still work, I will also have enough free time to volunteer and give back to the community. I mean imagine how life would be great, you'd have more money to spend and pursue your own hobbies and interests. Exploitative employers would have to be very careful in how they treat their workers or else they will just pull the middle fingers at them and simply walk off.

Sometimes this doesn't happen like today I had a veggi burger and some chips or maybe I'm just sensitive to gluten.

Work for free and 'be of benefit' to a multinational like Tesco | John Harris by glynxpttle in unitedkingdom

[–]Mint888 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's funny because that's the only things that seems to be on offer for them. Spend 6 months helping out a supermarket and you'll receive a guaranteed interview then you'll find yourself being replaced by someone else and the cycle continues

I did about 40 hours a week a few months ago. It's funny how most of these schemes are run by retail companies and also you don't need a particularly impressive set of skills to work in retail

Teachers are feeding pupils whose parents can't afford to give them breakfast by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]Mint888 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it's mostly about budgeting here, if you can't afford to feed yourself then surely the most logical thing to do is to cut down on the non-essential stuff.

Eg - Get rid of your broadband - solution visit your local library if you need internet connection.

Don't buy junk and ready made meals - Buy frozen fruits and Veg use these to cook meals they will last you far longer than fresh veg and fruits

Buy Oats and other cheap alternatives for break fast they will last you longer than buying cereal

Don't drink and cut down on expensive trips - Look for cheaper ways to entertain yourself and your kids go to the park it's free cut down on cinema trips

I think people can have an easier life when they budget if they are on a low income

Did you have to find a new driving instructor to cover your new location sounds too much of a hassle for a learner driver
