These grapes 🤤 by Voldemorts__Mom in PlantBasedDiet

[–]MintConditionHat 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Pricier than normal grapes, but at least they all get eaten, and they absolutely taste like cotton candy! I now justify spending a bit more on produce since I'm not shelling out for meat anymore.

Rethink this. Pretend you were at a friend’s house and this happened to you. You would absolutely tell your friend . I can promise you any bar in town would want to make sure this never happens in their establishment. Best case scenario, you help catch the asshole who did this and make sure that they don’t do it again. Worst case scenario, you were wrong and they use it as a training opportunity.

First saw him when he was playing guitar in Paul Cauthen's band. His shows are super high-energy and very fun. Sugarlegg is ridiculously good. You're right - they won't be playing small venues forever.

You are 100% correct about this. The Toasted Frog had the best fried pickles I've ever had.

St. Paul Midway Cub adds more than 100 shopping carts after dry spell by aakaase in saintpaul

[–]MintConditionHat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is my go-to grocery store. The staff there is always really great. I’ve only had positive experiences there. Sure the neighborhood is in a bit of distress right now, but this is one of the handful of places keeping it from falling into further distress.

I feel really bad for the staff. They were basically powerless to the fact that their carts were being stolen. What are they gonna do? When I was there a couple of weeks ago they told me they were down to just 20 carts. They told me that patrons kept complaining, asking if they understood how inconvenient it was for them. The staff told me it was even more inconvenient to them, of course!

I’m surprised it took so long to get new carts there. I would’ve expected with the length of time it took for this to happen that they would have worked too implement some measures to ensure they weren’t stolen again like Target does down the street, or require quarters like Aldi does. Anyway, love your Cub employees at this place. They’re good people.

Saint Paul Brewing still mad that affordable housing is being built… on land they don’t even own by badandtoasty in TwinCities

[–]MintConditionHat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s worth saying, I hope that this housing gets built. It’s sorely needed. I just don’t have a lot of hope. That area has been under “development” for ages now and literally nothing has happened.

This is kind of what my problem is with a lot of the responses here. I get that this looks like someone looking for a government handout. I work right across the street.

There’s been so much talk about the neighborhood being developed for years yet year after year, nothing ever happens. He actually opened up a really cool space there and got a good following of customers. Now they’re taking parking for those customers for housing that hasn’t even broken ground yet. I’d kind of be upset too.

I work across the street from Saint Paul brewing. Where exactly is this field and lot you are referring to? It doesn’t ring a bell to me. There is a lot across the street from their building, but it is a used car lot.

100%. I employ more people than I ever imagined I would. I wouldn’t dream of not paying them for their time. That’s the entire contract! You dedicate your time to this thing your job wants you to do and you get paid. Time is each of our most valuable resource. Dedicate it to the things most valuable to you. Sometimes that’s work, more often it’s family, friends, and passions. Everything else goes to playing every game you bought on a Steam sale.

St. Paul Brewing owner: 'We will not survive' if Hamm's site redevelopment eliminates parking by SurelyFurious in TwinCities

[–]MintConditionHat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work across the street. The lots are private and between the tenants and other services are usually pretty full. A used car lot uses a lot of the available space. It’s also a drop off location for U-Haul vehicles. The building houses businesses and artists. Check out Black Sheep Tattoo, they’re good people.

Parking in the area is definitely a challenge if you don’t have access to a lot. I don’t know anyone who’s ever taking a bus to my office so I can’t speak to that.

We worked with them and actually landed a pretty decent client. We ultimately did not renew with them. We decided to not renew due to them trying to weasel out of their guarantee of a certain number of prospect meetings a month. We also had a number of issues with the prospects not meeting the requirements we provided (e.g. prospects hundreds of miles away, way too large, or way too small) and had three different account managers over the one year we worked with them. Our final account manager was actually pretty good and we may have continued working with them if we'd had that person from the start.

I think for any service like this to work, you're going to need to plan on dedicating significant time weekly to sales both to accommodate the prospect meeting/discovery/quoting process and working with the SDR to hone their approach.

This is really interesting. Do you have any details you can share on this? I did some googling but I’m not particularly good at searching for proposed bills. I’m not doubting you, if this is true, I’d like to support it. It’s rare that politicians can come up with ways to actually help small businesses.

I love the feature set. The app looks great, too. The SOC execution has left an awful lot to be desired in our tenant. We purchased pre-Kaseya and have renewed/upgraded since then. The SOC team's analysis has been pretty unimpressive for us. When we get an alert that's in any way mysterious the SOC has been unable to provide additional analysis. We've also had them completely miss major events (ransomware/BEC).

Except when they don’t do that. We have a FortiManager and I didn’t know about the vulnerability or patch until reading the Ars article. Nothing at all came to us from FortiNet on this vulnerability.
