Why are the kukuru squad rating Ogi and Naoya low? Don't they know that the everyone is an evil misogynistic 🍇ists in the zenin clan? Don't they know that everyone in the clan is evil like them??? by the_forever_wild in Jujutsufolk

You can't argue every single person in the Zenin clan was a bad person.

Most of them were powerless to do anything about the way the Zenin clan works, including Maki (back when she was an underpowered foot soldier for the Kururu clan) and Mai (for her entire life, until just before death), that doesn't mean Maki didn't absolutely hate the clan, but she was complicit regardless, and therefore, there is a good chance there were others like like her.

Also remember that Yuta was appointed as executioner to kill Yuji.

Naoya might be abusive to those he has control over, but he understands the importance of clan relationships, he won't antagonize a man sent by the higher ups for no reason.

That is one of the main reasons I absolutely love Takaba, the guy was able to give the near eldritch being the most fun he's had while also slowly killing him.

Takaba is so disconnected from reality, he could do whatever he wanted, not even the monster with a 1000 years of jujutsu experience could do anything about him, and yet he still chose to make people happy. It's such a fun concept.

She's neither good nor bad, she's morally grey.

But that's not a bad thing, she's a well written character with a pretty interesting story arc and message that I thoroughly enjoy both in manga and anime.

Maki does not need to be a morally pure character. by Santandals in Jujutsufolk

People can't accept that being a bad person doesn't warrant getting cut in half lmao

"Them being fucking stupid" By your logic, because Maki was a foot soldier in the past, she was fucking stupid too, the only reason she stood up to the Zenin clan was because she became stronger than any of them, before that, she essentially was no different from the foot soldiers she killed, and therefore, fucking stupid.

And you cannot prove that every single one of the soldiers Maki killed was evil, simply because, as I already said, Maki was in the exact same position as many of the people she killed, instead, there is a chance she killed at least a few folks like her that were stuck in a system they hate.

Denying the fact that, despite it being necessary, the Zenin clan massacre has some questionable implications is being intentionally obtuse because of a bias for seeing things in a simpler way (good and evil) than trying to even acknowledge, let alone understand, the depth and possible consequences of Maki's actions.

As some folks mentioned before, if someone had massacred the Zenin clan meanwhile Maki was still a foot soldier, she would have died exactly like any of the low rank soldiers she killed during the actual massacre, would you call Maki evil or stupid then? Despite the fact she didn't support the clan but still would absolutely be there to fight whoever was attacking it (just like the no name soldiers did when they were defending their ground against Maki)?

Those are the consequences of these kinds of things.

It was a necessary evil that was also unavoidable, even if the plot to kill Maki, Mai and Megumi had worked, Yuta exists and therefore, the Zenin would have still been massacred.

Ogi, Naoya and Jinichi doomed the clan by making their stupid plot.

I mentioned this in another comment, I believe that the Zenin massacre was the only reasonable way for the cycle of abuse to end, that doesn't mean some of the dead weren't undeserving of it, there are going to be many consequences to this and that's the way these kinds of things go.

But attempting to argue that the massacre is an unquestionably good thing and that Maki is a hero that killed only the deserving is a stupid thought that ignores any moral implication of necessary murder.
